Today I branched out in WoW, making an orc shaman and a blood elf warlock (calm down, elf boy's not evil, he's one of those "oh look at me as I turn the darkness against itself" type of sorcerors... at least in my head) in addition to my tauren warrior. Big shout out to  pak for gifting me with more gold than any lower-level character has any right to have.

One of the things in Warcraft that appealed to me was the option to play as one of the "bad" races. Why play Alliance when every other games trots out the obligatory Man/Elf/Dwarf triad? I'm looking at you, Dragon Age. Tauren are big, primitive-looking minotaurs. Orcs have that underdog vibe, and tusks. And blood elves go down the sinister mage path. How can I go back to "Oh look at us. We're humans." Bo-ring. Been there, done that. Even Oblivion let you play as an orc, even though their heads looked a little like limes.

And it looks like we're due for another blizzard tomorrow. Unlike last week, I have no plans to go anywhere. I enjoy being alive and unbroken too much. Perfect excuse to dive into more writing. I had an idea for another story, to be fleshed out at some future time when I'm not juggling three narratives. Maybe I'll share this new idea after I work out a sample opening. It will feature a new minotaur and a HUMAN! (Pause for the ZOMGWTFBBQAT&T outburst)
