An ode to Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger

As I was coming back to my User Page a minute ago, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye.

Now that may be just plain ironic, but the flag-waving, Communist-hating, hamburger-eating American in me couldn't help but notice that it's the same number as Flight 1549.
The Miracle on the Hudson.
God Bless Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger for what he was able to do on Jan. 15, 2009, and may the words "Brace for Impact" forever ring with the same patriotic tones as "Give me Liberty or Give me Death!", "Let's Roll" and "I Regret That I Have but one Life to Give for my Country".
Mr. Sullenberger, you are a true American hero in a time when this great country of ours is severely lacking in such honorable people as yourself.
Edit: April 17, 2010
I think I may be obsessed with The Miracle on the Hudson.
My proof? Look what I just found on a random check of my userpage.

I just realized I misread that as 1549. Someone smack some sense into me, PLEASE!

Late comment but wonderfully said. Captain Sully is my hero. He did what was right without hesitation. I remember hearing about the crash and started crying because 99.99% of the time that is fatal but his quick thinking and bravery saved every single life on the plane. He further impressed me by being humble, saying he only did what any one would do... but the thing is, he did it... not often has any other pilot been able to say the same. He now is a spokesperson for St. Judes Children Hospital... just wow. I have a personal connection to that hospital. I was a sickly baby, all the doctors told my parents I wouldn't live to see my fifth birthday. My father took me to St. Judes and they said they would do all they could to keep me alive. It took many surguries, lots of medicines, and too many close calls but I am still here, soon to be 30 years old. Capt Sully being their spokesperson now... truly the icing on the cake.
