So someone came into my new dream, Nine Tail Tavern, and sat down at a table. I started to RP with them. They were some slave character that was 'waiting for her master' Me, being the typical kitsune, started to question weather her master was really coming for her, why she should allow herself to be considered below someone else, ect. Sowing the typical seeds of doubt and mischief kitsune are known for. Sure a lot of kitsune would have been nicer, but Hikari's always been one to walk the line of nogitsune, and frankly, she despises slavery and enjoys messing with both slaves and masters, to annoy or aggravate them. Very kitsune'ish behavior when confronted with something they dont believe is 'right'. Well this apparently angered the person who was playing this slave and they left. I messaged them OOC and well, you can see below for your own amusement. Please keep in mind, that at ANY point in time, this person could have EASILY hit the 'ignore' button at the top of the screen, or even just have typed 'ignore hikari|shade', at ANY time... I even TOLD her this multiple times... Yes probably should have stopped harassing them.. but it was WAY too much fun to keep goading them, telling them I wasnt going to stop talking until they ignored me. (only edited to censor their name so I dont get vigilantes going after their moronic ass)

But the original name for Inari slowly turned into Inari, with Ri being the suffex to the word for rice. Kitsune do her bidding as devine messangers. Often they have been portrayed as mischivious, playful spirits, sometimes seductive lovers. Many stories revolve around a kitsune seducing a young man and then being exposed to their true identies. Even more are stories of people being possesed by fox spirits and being forced to serve as messangers or do acts beyond their control. If you REALLY want to learn about kitsune, I think you should buckle down and get the facts beyond your OWN perverted little fetishes of them being sex crazed foxes. There is far more to them beyond that, but hey, if you want to remain self delucted about your own little personal whore fox fantacies, go right on ahead and do so. With the new animated items and customizable interface skins, dreams can actually be amazingly beautiful. However they still have yet to bump up the graphics to a 32bit system. They have promised it for years, but since SL was released, they seemed to have lost focus on improving their overall graphics and more a focus on pumping out as many overpriced digos as they could.
And a lot of people seemed to OOCly hate that about my character, well the dominating types.
Though I don't know why some people have this thing against spell casters, I mean for simply knowing a fireball spell or they believe I'm using anything supernatural, it takes away from the scene.
That is a guide set up by my husband and myself breaking down the aspects of a kitsune for RPing purposes, and giving a bit of information about them in general.
And yeah, thats a common misconception that I get. I blame a couple of people for that misconception, mostly by an old old player named Okori who had written up a 'guide' to kitsune behavior and crap for AKP before Keichimaru and I stepped in and told Paline "Whoa girl, that guys smoking shit. Heres whats really going on, and the proof to back it up' His guide was utter nonsense, based on the books by Mercedes Lackey in which she had 'kitsune' in them, but the only similarities that they had to the actual legends was that they were playful fox spirits, with more then one tail. To which Mercedes Lackey herself actually stated that they were her own creation based on the kitsune stories, and were not accurate at all to the kitsune from legend. I think he had a little bit of the White Wolf kitsune idea's thrown in there to with the mix. He's the one responsible for the idiotic names for the elements that the old AKP had. I dont know why Paline kept insisting on using them. Half the words wernt even japanese, and none of them were the correct words for the elements period. I SILL have morons coming in with those stupid words listed for their elements.
They should've asked how you play kitsune first if they wanted to RP, or if it was not to their expected parameters, ooc you and ask 'how do you see kitsune'. Whether or not they're right doesn't matter, the fact that they got annoyed because some person they didn't know didn't rp the way they want does.
Of course, I'd defer to you on kitsune, generally I avoid using them myself, but as a general statement I think my comment stands.
I've also befriended the Furcadia staff quite some time ago, and got a chance to know them while they were attending Anthrocon, and I'm very well hoping to see them again this year. :)
