I miss earthquakes. Growing up in southern california, earthquakes were always fun, including the magnitude 8 one that made everything dance.

I'm been without them for so long now they'd probably freak me out :D

Never experienced an earthquake. I always feel like they'd scare the shit out of me; are they really that bad?

have you ever felt the aftershock of a large explosion or heavy object from far away? it is kinda a small taste of what you'd feel in an earthquake, only that feeling is sustained over the course of time. It may feel like a real heavy object is rolling close by, but with no sound except for a really low pitched noise well below that of an engine sound

I was listening to 780 AM out of boredom at 4 AM and sure enough, earthquake calls roll in! I was a little too far away to feel anything. Plus, it was hilarious to hear all the people who thought it was just a snow plow until they realized their street wasn't plowed.

I have a few friends who moved to Sycamore, too. Lucky them!

earthquakes never happen where i live... but whenever there is one around somewhere it can only counted in helsinki of a very not to be seen by naked eye on the window as it vibrates... but thats it... WHoaa... earthquake... back to tv. :c

It's no quake it'ss Cloverfield Run. Not as bad here. Los Angeles has been waiting for "The Big One" for awhile a.k.a will make the North Ridge quake it's bitch :3 And we have no evac or funds for a big quake

It is usually just a smooth side to side or rolling motion where the ground is rising and falling for small to moderate quakes. I lived in the Fresno, CA area during the Coalinga quake and the series of quakes striking Mammoth lakes area. Coalinga was my first quake and I thought LA(before I found out it was much closer) was going down the way it felt. Very intense but no damage. The ones from Mammoth that occurred later were fun for me as a kid. I remember four of them clearly. Two of them I was looking toward a wall in my house and it appeared the wall itself was swaying back and forth but in reality I was likely sliding in my chair. Woken up by one of them at five in the morning to my bed sliding on the wood floor my bedroom had about 4-6 inches each way. The other one I recall rocked me east and west one way and then the waves must have reflected off the mountains and then rocked me north to south. Ironically tho many said they felt it, I did not feel the Loma Prieta quake. I only saw a light fixture sway. I was in the LA big one (lived in South Gate) back in 71 but was just an infant then so no memories of that.
