Seriously. I'm getting tired of DeviantART pages trying to open Adobe PDF Reader. I don't know why this keeps happening, and I don't want to get a virus from it. Customer service is of absolutely ZERO help because it happens at random and the issue can't be re-created by any single link. It HAS to be their banner advertisements, because that is the only page element that loads at random.

Is it only me, or is ANYONE else out there having the same issue? Dx

you could try the "no-script" add on (I think that's what it's called)

It stops websites from running scripts unless you give it permission

DA has done the same to me, since I installed an anti-spam filter (not the microsoft one), they stopped completely

Please note we have very strict guidelines for all of our advertising partners and we don’t allow any forms of 'viruses' to run on dA. We would never, ever, knowingly run anything that is remotely malicious on the site.

I've had random pop-ups plague me there. Offering to scan my computer for viruses and such. Ad-blockers don't always seem to catch them.

It's because of all the ads and shit on the website. If you don't have a premium membership, then you get the version with all the malicious coding on it. I've had my browser redirected and all kinds of shit so I can't really go to DA anymore. At the very least, it lags like a sombitch (yes I said sombitch)

+1 for Adblock Plus -- it's prevented a heap of problems for me all over the internet (along with speeding things up a lot and eliminating much of the annoyance factor of most sites). Also, it's a good idea to disable Adobe JavaScript in Adobe Reader (>Edit>Preferences>JavaScript).
