Well for me with new cartoons in all I don't like them because their so... Babyish if you notice because it wants to make alot of kids to do less things and the voice actors are like blah... =/ But the old cartoons were alot better even though some of their work may take longer but their still better right?

Many of the older shows are still in favor with me. Often, the newer progressions have only served to disappoint me. Like how DC hasn't put out a good animated show since Justice League Unlimited, peddling out crap like The Batman and Batman: Brave and the Bold. I agree with liking the older stuff better.

I suppose. I'm not exactly a fan of Disney (I hate them for many reasons) but I will agree that some of the Old Disney like The Lion King were good.

Oh gawd, the old cartoons today are garbage garbage GARBAGE... Everyone, especially the animators, have gotten super lazy since the old stuff. 99.9% of the cartoons on TV today are made in Flash. Though not necessarily bad, is certainly a lot less effective compared to the traditional media.

Most of the new cartoons, with the exception of a select few that I liked, are absolutely horrendous. I'm still wondering why the producers, in their ultimate wisdom, thought it was a great idea to think that these cartoons will attract the viewer's eye. I'm a big fan of older cartoons, especially ones in the 80's and 90's.

Movies have fallen into the same boat as well. Lots of old movies, up to early 2000's, are spectacular works of art. Nowadays, they're just bad and crappy remakes of things, and even Hollywood has tapped into the games again and pump out a pile of tripe.

Protip to Hollywood producers: Game-to-movie adaptations are a very bad idea. That's why people say Dragonball Evolution is total crap.

America no longer seeks to educate the youth. Only to give them the ADD fixed mindset that will get them put on medications in school for having short attention spans. Even Sesame Street has gotten to a crack-like jittery state. It's sad.

I have to wait till 2-3 AM to watch some ACTUAL educational entertainment on PBS. I REALLY miss Bill Nye The Science guy. :(

There is a problem with nostalgia, we only want to remember the good stuff. There were allot of good cartoons we had as kids but there were also bad ones. Granted there is allot of bad stuff on right now, to many to count. But there are also the gems, like Chowder, The Misadventures of Flapjack, the Fairly Odd Parents and even Spongebob(I think its gotten better with time).

Yes I do miss the old shows and wish all the new ones would put that much effort into them. But producers wants to make the most money wile spending little, so shows like Avatar: the Last Airbender gets cut short(I felt the last season was rushed) wile garbage like Back at the Barnyard are still being made.

But Chowder is terrible, the fairy odd parents Theme is terrible, I mean theme Like, A kid that just use Wishes for Himself, that egoism and is terrible rlly...Old Ones are the best hun, But i like to listen to opinions *hugs* And I respect Opinions rlly :3

I watched a show called Johny Test yesteday and all I could think of was, man, the writing and pace of this show either requires you to already have a short attention span, or it's going to give you one after watching it a lot. There are no shows on air today that are new that you can say 20 years from now will have that Hey remember when, moments like many shows from the 80s and late 90s have.

Good cartoons, good movies, lots of running in the house with the same background on infinite loop (Flintstones), Duck Season Wabbit Season, furry felines ... LOTS of fun, imagination, guns that don't actually kill, they went BANG or Bugs stuck his finger in the barrel. Lots of chase scenes, stopping in midair, look down FALLS Splat (Wile. E. Coyote). Space! Lots of Imagination!


Now? Lots of remakes of the old 80s and being remade into the new styles. I don't like seeing Care Bears in the new way, it looks creepy and I found a li'l more sluggish as they were still learning 3d movements and stuff.

Even the Clone Wars tv series I find not very realistic, kinda sluggish, not too smooth ...

I feel a lot with modern cartoons is that they are aimed at a more younger audience than the past ones, there for it makes them a lot harder for older kids of adults to be able to watch them. Western animation has really slipped in quality though, its sad that pretty much even low budget anime can kick most western shows butts on making something that looks decent. But much anime proves that just cos its looks good you can easy get into retard tangled storylines that are not really that entertaining. A lot of western shows keep taking the opposite route of making the humour so over the top and stupid that for entertainment they have lost the art of story telling, and people get sick of watching their fave character grow more and more stupid as the show goes on.

And then a Western company gets hold of said anime for redistribution in the US/Europe, and tottally guts it to be even worse than their own crap...

Sonic X... from what I heard the original in Japanese was beautifully done... but 4-Kids made the English dub just... ugh I couldn't go on watching... seeing my childhood hero butchered like that....

All i get to say about today's cartoons.

I love both new (shows like Chowder, Flapjack, and Spongebob), and old (shows like Secret Squirrel, Ed Edd N Eddy, and Ren and Stimpy) cartoons. ^^

How far back are we talking for an old cartoon? Peereferably I loved Looney tunes were awsome. But I liked looking back at the 80's cartoons and found those alot more enjoyable.

Personally for me I love watching the older cartoons. Something about the way everything was put together for the time seemed to be totally awesome compared to what is out right now. I just doesn't seem to catch my interest as much as they used to and if they do, I can only keep up with the stuff but so well. As to movies, I can only say relatively few have caught my eye and I do miss some of the older animated works. 3D work is pretty cool but sometimes it feels like it's become overkill.

Avatar the last airbender another great show in the early 21 century. Also Sonic X was pretty cool as well and the Old sonic from 1993, Mario brothers from the late 80’s, Thundarr the Barbarian, and Thudercats they’re s even rumors that Thudercats will be up in the silver screen. Swatkats was a freaking awesome cartoon. Now I think the only good cartoon show around besides Avatar in our time is the Penguins of Madagascar and Ed Edd and Eddy lol. Opps almost forgot Ben 10

Pokemon on the other hand it’s a good show don’t get me wrong but it got soo boring now since ash never gets old he’s still a 10 year kid for the last 12 something years now and Team Rocket always gets their assess kicked just to get their hands on that damn Pikachu. Come on Nintendo gives us something new for a chance. I rather play the New gold and Silver games than watching the show really!

Digimon seasons 1-4 were pretty awesome 1 2 and 3 were the best. Renamon is the kewlest and sexiest Digimon of all hands down.
