My favourite atari games

1. "Adventure" 1979: One of the first video games I ever played and still my most favourite. You play as a dot moving through mazes, castles, and catacombs looking for different objects while running from dragons and a bat that steals whatever you're holding. With minimal graphics, no music and repetitive screens, it is still beautiful, and a wonder that it was all fit into just 4kb of rom.
2."Super Breakout" 1978: I find this game to be better than regular breakout, the graphics and sound are better as well as having more control over the ball, I can still sit and play this game for hours at a time. The only complaint I have is that it does not take up the entire screen like original breakout. It is still very good for 1978.
3."Pac-Man" 1981: Although it was rushed and has little to compare with the arcade Pac-Man or even the Atari 5200 version, I still can't stop playing it. The graphics and sound are rather horrible, after a while, eating the dots or lines begins to sound like someone repeatedly hitting a piano key. Still a fun game though.
4."Venture" 1982: This game is somewhat like a combination of pac-man and berzek. You control a small dot which moves from room to room. Upon entering a room you turn into a smiley face and shoot arrows at things like ghosts and snakes in order to gain treasures like diamonds and lawn chairs. You really have to get in and get out though because if you're not quick, the hall monster will come and kill you. The graphics and game play don't really compare to the arcade version, but this can be expected due to the limited capabilities of the atari's 6507 cpu.
5."Video Olympics" 1977: One of the original Atari games, it is simply a bunch of pong variants listed as different games. Only the first game "Pong" can be one player, featuring very primitive AI. It has other games like Hockey which is pong with a different colour background and smaller goals. I could still sit around for hours and play this game.
