Pinups versus portraits

My lovlies, what is the difference between a pinup? and a portrait? I see both terms used often, but I don't know the difference.

Pinup = intentionally sexy. Portrait = generally a waist up bust shot that is kept clean, though naughty bits can be shown in an unaroused state.
