I have left DA simply because the community attitude seemed much more hostile compared to here. Maybe it was just the type of people that watched me when I did actual art, but they constantly felt entitled to free stuff just because we talked/chatted with one another. Then would get angry when I said no.

Hmm, I've never had that problem. :/ I'm starting to like FA better because dA is a more serious site, and it's quickly becoming more complicated with the addition of their new groups system. FA is much simpler and besides, everyone loves some good pr0nz. ;D

FA.

The main difference between the two areas is the atmosphere and audience. DA is technically better because you have a much wider range of tastes, abilities, opinions, etc etc... you can often get better objective input, or find specific feedback. If you primarily do furry/fan artwork though, it's not always taken as "seriously" on DA as it is here, and on FA you're apt to find not only a supportive community, but people you can work cooperatively with and hone your furry stuff... the drawback being the people who solely worry about the porn side of drawing.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other... in either place, you'll still inevitably have to deal with the 12 year olds who draw pikachu and spongebob porn in MSpaint...

Oddly enough, it took me over a year to realize that a large amount of my dA watchers are furries. O__o I posted a poll titled "Yiff?" about a year ago -- 33% didn't know what yiff was, but about 2/3 of the remaining percentage said they loved it. xD

Besides, most of my FA drawings are feral wolves, which are drawn quite regularly on the site. I think my decrease is popularity is mainly due to the infrequency with which I log on. :/

My favourite thing about FA is that I don't have to censor myself. :3 I can draw and talk about almost whatever I want without having to worry about some 12-year old getting mad because I used the word "fuck". *rolls eyes*

mm, well now that I think about it, it's been about six or seven years since I frequented DA, so I guess things have changed lol There weren't such a large group of furs there in the past... probably comes down to just keeping both; you're established in both places, so it's not really worth pulling away from either really

Regarding decrease in faves from dA: Obviously not everyone's forgotten about your art if you still get those 20-40 faves per drawing.

Regarding friends on dA: If you do decide to leave dA, make sure to establish some means of communication outside of dA with them.

Regarding clean art on FA: Hehe, a topic that's been brought up many-a-time before. I'd normally write a thesis on this, but I don't feel like I have the time at the moment D: Give it a week and I might have the free time to write one XD

A few of my pics have over 200 faves though. :/ 20-40 faves seems decent, especially because that's about how many faves each of my yiff drawings gets, but... compared to how many faves I used to get, it's really a pretty small amount.

Some of them have FA profiles and some don't. I doubt I'd leave for good; I probably just need a break. dA's fucking boring nowadays and their new Groups system makes everything more complicated.

Not as awesome as it used to be. :P Honestly, my main motivating factor when I first joined was popularity -- I really wanted people to evaluate my art and help me improve as an artist, so I did whatever I could to get more watchers/pageviews. In the past year or so, however, I stopped caring about popularity, got lazy and stopped updating regularly, and now the only thing stopping me from leaving dA is all the friends I've made. :/

Oh, and the Groups piss me off. If you don't submit to 905723485623475624789278956789346 groups, your artwork doesn't get noticed. I don't have time for that shit.

I left DA myself because they deleted my art because even though it was tame it had pee in it. Also I still go on DA from time to time to talk to my friends and look at the pics from there (there are some pee pics if you look for them)

They delete/censor anything that's even slightly vulgar/provocative on dA. >__> One of my stamps was censored because it featured the word "bitch".

Here on FA, I could shout "BITCH!" from the proverbial rooftops and the only reply would be a distant howl and the sound of two anthros screwing in a dark alleyway. xD

They are pretty equal, all things considered... FA outmatching dA just a tad in most areas, but 10 months to 68 months, and considering FA is 50 times less popular than dA, means I am 340 times better off on FA than dA.

I don't draw blatant furry art all the time, which is why I have a pretty big following on dA -- my artwork is suitable for both sites. *shrugs* Everyone just seems to have forgotten me on dA because of my recent inactivity.

I'd leave my account up, but I haven't been inspired to draw lately, so there might not be updates from me for quite a while. :P Basically, I don't enjoy being a part of dA anymore.

A LOT of people say that to me. (just had someone tell me that last week!) I can't figure out why, I've never had (major) problems with dA.

1) There's been a huge decrease in comments and faves, which I usually wouldn't care about, but it's making me wonder why I bother posting if nobody views my art anymore.

2) The new Groups system annoys me. >__> I don't really care about belonging to groups, but I pretty much have to if I want my art to be noticed.

3) I'm much more interested in drawing mature art at the moment, most of which isn't dA-appropriate. xD Other than yiff, I don't feel inspired to draw.

I feel you on those things, actually. I've never been really popular (I'm actually happy I'm not; I don't want message clusterfuck xD) so I don't really notice drops in faves and comments.

Question: What of the BSP?

I used to be pretty popular, but I got lazy over time and my popularity gradually decreased. xD What I find annoying is that I -know- I've improved, and I work a lot harder on my drawings than I used to, but my newer artwork barely gets any attention. It confuses me. :/

I get approximately 100 deviations per day, 30+ faves (usually on stamps), and several random comments. Eventually I just started deleting deviations because I don't have the will power to keep up with so many messages.

I tried to revive the BSP by making it a group, but only about 1/4 of our original members even rejoined. That, coupled with the fact that almost NO ONE submits artwork to the group, leads me to believe that it'll probably die soon. :P Honestly, I've stopped caring about the BSP too. It's been on the verge of death for over a year anyways.

That's sad. Although, that's the way some things happen. *cookie crumbles* xD

I think the important thing is the friendships that I've made as a result of the BSP. :D The group itself my be slowly dying, but I'm still friends with a few dozen of the original members. Even if the BSP dies, we still have the friends we met during the BSP's "Golden Age". :3

...Which, unfortunately, happened almost 2 years ago. So you weren't around for it. D:

Yeah, I know. D: But it is good that the friends will still be there.

Oh, and some people still use the chatroom. :3 As far as I know, it's the only active part of the BSP at the moment.

People on DA don't usually comment because of the art, they comment because you comment on their stuff and whatever :( that's the truth I found. People here however comment because they like the porn :D

That's actually how I met most of my good friends on dA. I commented on their artwork first, and they watched me either because we started talking or they liked my artwork. :P
