Excessive Variation

My art varies in quality at a level that is absurd. Half the time I draw something and it turns out awful, and the other half I think it looks reasonably decent. Does anyone else have that problem, where their art varies within a huge range?
Though it seems recently to tip a little more often to the "Hey, that worked out!" stage than it used to.
