character design problem (input needed!)

General
Im making a gryphon character. Silver Sebright and Turkish Van.
the problem i have is what color should my Turkish Van spots be? the feathers from the Sebright are completely black and white, so id like some color, please.
Turkish Vans can be ANY pattern except for pointed. Keep in mind the only places a Turkish Van's spots are are on it's head, and its entire tail. I might throw in a spot on a leg or something iof i feel like it (also accepted)
please suggest colors!

I'D LOVE TO HALP WITH YER GRYPHON.
-plugs in tablet-
segregate colors to face/hind area, and the feathers of the cock are interesting so maybe some sort of dapple effect down the sides?
and what do you mean by "dapple effect"?
and lol, your 5-min doodle is better than my actual pic XD
i sux at drawing lols
And by dapples, I meant, the little black rings on the ends of the feathers. It reminds me of a dapple horse in a way.

but there are various ways to go about designing your griff.
Lion legs in front and back ? or traditional, bird legs in front, with feathering down the sides that stops abruptly into a lions backend, claws n all? Then of course you decided on face, small beak, large, hooked, long, thick, thin, etc. and ears really define the head for expressions. Long ears give a friendlier feel, they can swivel and flatten. shorter ears are generally more lion-like, making the griff feel tougher, more masculine too. uhm, and then there's the 'mane' of feathers. are you going to do a full mane? a mohawk, long feathers, maybe some hair or fur? a big chest or a thin narrow chest?
of course, tufts are a question too. that rooster/hen/cawk has a very cute tail, so possibly adding a faux tail tuft of feathers on the lion end, and then the lions tail? or maybe a lions tail, with feathers at the tip instead of fluff? or maybe a bird tail, and no lion tail at all? the options are endless. :]
all this griff talk is making me want one though. ^^;
A red-breasted blackbird, and some type of cat, leaning towards oriental.
I actually put it on top of a previous pic i doodled in class, so its not exceptionally great ^^"
specially since class= no refs
red breasted blackbird...-googles-
ohoho, they are quite pretty.
and I really like the oriental type cats
