Invisible Children. SPREAD THE WORD! HELP!
Time for a humanitarian cause. My schedule is often hectic and funds are usually short, maybe yours are too, but the least you can do is spread the word about this cause.
The Invisible Children Movement is an attempt to aid children in Uganda being violently conscripted into a rebellious army. These children are often abused, desensitized to violence, and taught only to kill. Estimates of the damages to human life reach in the hundreds of thousands, but there's a reason these children are "invisible."
Either living out in the villages or simply being conscripted, statistics for the census are often missed. The rebel army will certainly not provide any figures. In addition to being statistically unheard of, as a global issue, this tax on humanity is almost entirely unknown.
The Invisible Children Group aids these children by sending supplies, money, and running other support movements in the United States and Uganda. One of their biggest efforts is in providing education; they have established and repaired multiple Ugandan schools and have sent many children through high school and into college. They have already made other major leaps in the issue, ending child commuting away from their families and homes to avoid conscription, but they need still more help
The simplest thing you can do is spread the word. The more people know, the more concern will be fostered. From their website, you can learn more about the issue and read on the various ways to donate. Donations can fund scholarships, aid efforts, and can net you some pretty neat stuff, ranging from t-shirts to Ugandan-made jewelry. By consulting with officials of the group and recognizing your own talents, you may be able to create your own unique way of adding to the effort. Not to mention, the good deed means more than any of the material stuff.
Here's their website. If you can, even if only by a brief link or word of mouth, get this news out there.

Thanks.
By the way, enjoy your Pi Day.

I had heard about this long ago, when I was subscribed to a Christian newsletter called WorldVision I believe? In any case, I'm sorry to hear this is still going on, and while I cannot contribute directly to the cause either, I can spread the word to those who watch me
