A Computer Question...

General
So I have a Dell Laptop, Inspiron 1300.
About a month and a half ago, the motherboard overloaded, because the universal power cable I was using was too powerful for it.... T_T
So My question is this, this much time later, is the hard drive data still recoverable?
As far as I know nothing is physically damaged on the harddrive, it's just the monther board that's fried.
I know very little about the internal working of computers... so if this is a dumb question forgive me XD
The laptop does not turn on either so yea....
Thanks for the input ^_^;;

well laptops do have a removable hdd in them for the most part not sure if the dells do (my compaq did and so does my acer) what you'll need to recover the data is either bring it to a specialist (very expensive) or you might be able to get away with taking it out and getting a usb external hdd case that you can then use to hook it to a pc and use it as an external hdd make you you get the right size case for it. If you want I can look up some places you can order them from or get pictures to you if you're not sure exactly what it is I'm talking about lol
