Secondhand books smell like the strangest things

It's true. I received the first 4 books of Margery Sharp's Miss Bianca series today, and while they all smell a little like damp storage rooms, the first volume also smells like cut grass and lawn chairs and the second one a lot like peppermint.
And somehow, I thought this was important enough to let you all know.

I love the smell of printing ink, and I think when a book has that certain smell, it's easier to plunge into a world of imagination. These are kinda weird, though. Not like I would expect a book to smell!
I ordered them from some online secondhand bookstore. Somewhere in England, I believe. :)
