No. If you're thinking of erotic things--things that would turn people on--why would it be strange for your porn to turn yourself on, since you know better than anybody what turns you on? I know that there are stories that I write that turn me on, because I'm thinking that what should turn me on would turn most people on.
Usually, unloading before a project takes care of that for me. I know that for some people it's the other way around, and they need to hold it in if they want the product to come out well.
What I hate is reading a story where the spelling (i.e. typing) gets progressively worse as the story gets sexier and more pornographic, as if they were typing one-handed . . .
i see that wayyyyy too often...not just in others but myself embarrassingly so badly that it makes loose interest in going back and editing the atrocities. =/
