How do you get rid of the deviantart aids? It totally ate my antivirus.

I know you can get rid of it. I saw somewhere (before I had it, unfortunately) where someone went step by step through how to get rid of it.

Wow everyone seems to be getting viruses on DA lately...

If you have a decently sized flash drive (like, 4GB at least) you could try to download a small linux distribution and running ClamAV through it. (I have no farking idea how to Windows on flash drives, if it's at all possible)

Other than that idea, I'd just be putting words on search sites and posting what came up.

I did the google thing. Currently running an antimalware software..that I had to download on the other computer upload to the network and install that way. Wheee.

If on Mozilla firefox, get Adblock plus, subscribe to one of the filters

Try adding NoScript to FF. The only scripts on DA I allow are deviantart.com and deviantart.net

If you're currently running firefox, I suggest getting AdBlock Plus installed. For the -most- part, it blocks ads from websites. I used it instead of subscribing to DeviantArt for a while, and tada~ no ads! Too bad it wouldn't get rid of the lil' red X's where the ads would be, though.
For -some- people, AdBlock Plus doesn't work for them, but it usually did on my end of things. Give it a shot, hey?

why do people post if they have viruses im unable to post due to my computer having major amounts of viruses and when i mean post i mean downloadable content that coulds have my com aids and stuff so i myself wont risk getting people to complain to me for downloading somthing i has viruses on

ya sorry bout the punctuation. im actually getting a replacment in less than 2 weeks if my money comes in then since im supposed to be getting enough for a new com anyways. ill be posting from it instead but its great i now know about how virus ridden DA is so i wont be going there anytime soon till i get some massive antivirus software. but again sorry for not useing punctuation im still learning to get used to it.

no'i just have tough time with puctuation. wasnt what i could do best in school. i did evrything else good but that wasnt my forte. so kinda need to work on it. sorry if my words are a hassle to read im in the process of trying to remember to try every time i type

I would do a search, maybe on a nonvirused system for a fix. I think its so common now there will be a walkthrough or a program. I'm using Avast! Also try downloading spybot - search and destroy and Superantispyware both usually are really goo and can get rid of stuck stuff. Thats all the help I have :P
