I dunno....I made such a big deal out of not drawing porn before......but now that i can, I don't really see much difference between then and now....

I'm not really sure. I just thought that it would change something about me. but I dont feel anything.

I write it because I can't seem to write "normal" stories... they always come out all weird. I suppose my normal stories could be just as messed up, but it's harder to notice if you're... too busy to notice.

I guess it depends on your target audience and purpose as an artist. If your goal is to create "tasteful" furry art, drawing porn may not be the way to go (not to say that it can't be tasteful, of course, but still). If your goal is to literally arouse people's interests, well, I can't think of a better way.

If you're just looking for what to do as a next step, there's always room for improvement. You could also try trading art with other artists, if plain ol' commissions aren't enough.

It's difficult for me because sometimes I forget what my goals are, and wonder why I'm doing what I'm doing.......ah....maybe I just think too much.

Maybe, but there's a fine line between "too much" and "too little". Right now it seems like you're trying to entice all of us to some degree, otherwise you probably wouldn't bother to share your art with us.

...and it does mean that you can now make money drawing porn :3

faves+views+comments= popularity

and popularity gets you friends and contacts, and opportunites to get better.....though that isn't completely true. When i think of that, I want it at first. But then I start to question why I want it.

Because it feels good to be accepted by others? Having people approve of something you put effort into is, in many cases, better than "knowing you tried your best" or w/e. It let's you know that you're good in someone else's eyes, not just your own. That's not shallow. No one can truly claim that they're not gratified by the approval of even a random person they don't know. If they really didn't care, what would be the point in showing them in the first place?

Short lived how? like, does acknowledgment of one of your pics lose it's value over time, or is it that the rest of the fandom only seems to care about your last few?

And there is some difference between porn and everything else... In this case, drawing porn should increase your fan base, and as you said, raise your popularity. You probably [think you] want popularity because of exactly what it is... it means that people know and recognize you. Now, whether you're looking to be known for your personality, clean art, porn, or w/e is a completely different story
