UK Law thingy UPDATED

Okay, so apparently visiting FA in the UK is now illegal because it hosts Cub porn...
Riiigghhhtt... So in the UK it is now illegal to view drawings of people aged under 18. Quick question before everybody jumps ship... Since when were furries actually people?
I mean come on, not human, not technically an animal, we're mythical beings and I'll be dipped in a big bucket of fuck if a stupid arse government tells me that viewing a website that has 'underage mythical creatures' on it is now illegal. Hell I'm not even the slightest interested in cub porn so what the fuck?
I'm agreeing with
krakendwaggin here, I'm not worried untill someone gets arrested.
Okay guys, so I'm still a little iffy/unsure about the definition of 'child pornigraphy' when it comes to imaginary critters!
Looking over the act in question ( http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts200.....-ch2-pb1-l1g62 ) the very first point rules out FA being 'blacklisted' or made illegal:
Chapter 2 Images of children
Prohibited images
62 Possession of prohibited images of children
(1) It is an offence for a person to be in possession of a prohibited image of a child.
So all you guys who don't care much for actual cub porn you have nothing to worry about, just clear your chache if you accidentaly click on it.

FA+

Apparently it is, but I won't worry untill someone get's arrented
..then if i do, i may get a little anxious, but i dont even browse for cub porn anyway, nor do i draw it.
i think its rather unfair to totally ban the entire site.
ive seen worse things happen on facebook that they should really deal with rather then this
How about... if FA gets blocked all the UK furs march on to the government and demand Facebook be taken down for the exact same reason... and4chan, that can go too XD
yes we should do that :P
.... :(
These plans became part of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009, sections 62-68, and will come into force on 6 April 2010. The definition of a "child" in the Act includes depictions of 16 and 17 year olds who are over the age of consent in the UK, as well as any adults where the "predominant impression conveyed" is of a person under the age of 18. The Act makes it illegal to own any picture depicting under-18s participating in sexual activities, or depictions of sexual activity in the presence of someone under 18.
Just to be clear, the act criminalises all NON-REALISTIC SEXUAL IMAGES depicitng under 18s as well as realistic ones. So yes, it would cover the wolrd of furry.
But the offence is to OWN such an image, be it via printed or electronic means. So simply don't look at and save/print anything that could come under the definition of "child" and you'll be fine.
also... I just hoped over to opsi and read up on it!
(e) the performance by a child of an act of intercourse or oral sex with an animal (whether dead or alive or imaginary);
(f) the performance by a person of an act of intercourse or oral sex with an animal (whether dead or alive or imaginary) in the presence of a child.
That's the only part I found about it... Are furries technically animals... or are we mythical cretures?
However, remeber that the Act specifies ALL non-realistic images. So work of fiction or not, any drawing that could be 'reasonably' considered to contain a 'minor' under the definitions of the Act would be subject to the criminal provisions of the same. On that basis, anything on FA that depicts a minor be it a real or fictional creation is arrestable if you are caught in possession of it.
You know... I have a massive urge to draw like... a baby tentacle!
analy raping someone! >:C
But essentially as I read the provisions of the Act (and I will find a full copy of the Act in due course to make sure), the offence is only to possess or own the imagery in any way. Which yes, would include the likes of your browsing history. So the simple way to not be arrested is to simply not look at it, not save it, and not print it.
That's the full act
thanks again for the insight. I'll just go update =3
Clearly a dragon or a wolf isn't a Homo Sapien, so techncially everything on FA should be fine. Though take that interpretation with a pinch of salt.
