Anyone going to A-kon? I'll be there though I won't have a table in the artist's alley or anything, but I'll be wandering around here and there. I'm actually volunteering doing guest relations stuff, so I'll be busy most of the time. But I'll occasionally be hanging around the AP table or wandering the dealer's room.

I was thinking about it, but when Fred said he was going to be too busy to go, I decided I'd skip it again this year and just keep going to AWA.

Well, if you start working in guest relations, maybe that'll change in the future. Akon has never invited him as a guest. They just figure he'll come up with the AP guys. No free hotel room or nothing, like the guests at conventions normally get. ;X

Yeah, I spoke to them last year about it. Apparently 'artists don't draw people to conventions' but bands do, so they dump all their money into that. I can see their point - a band can put on a show, but I don't think it's true. No one gets into anime because of anime showtunes.

And yet they're the only anime con that believes that hogwash. Of course, the artists in question have come anyway (in the past), so why should they care? I know several folks who aren't going because Fred won't be there though, so their loss. :)

Yes, Shon Howell and I and Poinko and DAQ will be there at the Happy Jackal Graphics table. You'll find us at the big peoples table, The Dealers Room.
Gonna have comics, manga, model kits and lots of t-shirts.

Great, Fred's not going to be at A-Kon this year..... I could have skipped it and gone somewhere else. Christ.... he still owes me a commission from last A-Kon.
