WTF, BBCA?

So, I'm kicking back, watching Peep Show, and a promo airs. For Star Trek: TNG.
I thought it was weird enough that BBCA played Star Trek: Generations the other night, but now this?
Don't get me wrong. I enjoy Star Trek very much. Hell, look at my profile ID. But I subscribe to BBCA because I want to see British programming. I can handle the shameless editing that goes into shows like Top Gear and Doctor Who, but why the hell are they playing Star Trek, instead of putting shows like QI and Casualty on the air? I can watch Star Trek on one of the many American channels I have and never watch because they all air the same four shows.
Grah.

Anyway Star trek is big in Britain, BBCC is good for me cause it shows classic Dr Who! Now I need some Blakes 7 and Tomorrow People!
Probably because the cable stations (and otherwise) are pissy because the Internet's better. :p
They complain that QI and Casualty are torrented in the US, and they respond by airing Star Trek?
Give us the shows we torrent, and we'll stop torrenting them! D:
CN is playing mostly live-action reality TV crap. 4Kids murders every anime they touch. Disney XD is playing decent Marvel toons...but you must have a high priced tier of digital cable or satellite if you want that..
It's just meh.
But, yeah. I see your point, and am thoroughly annoyed by it.
However, I'm in the camp that think things will slowly move to the internet side where ads are easily targeted towards certain people instead of a broad range (ie: commercials here are thrown into one lump, a car commercial, commercial for a local school, commercial for fast food, etc, well online it could read where you are located in the world right down to your street address then just give you ads for a local store or a local shop or something like that).
Hulu plays Spaced and Black Books.
