Brogan's Story

General
I'm not sure how much info I've shared concerning my minotaur blacksmith with a brain who has been seeing more play lately. I figured I'd lay out his backstory here and now.
I say backstory because, first and foremost, Brogan is the main character of the novel I've been plotting since October and I'm about ready to move on to the writing stage. Brogan is the youngest son of the Stoutheart family, well-known for their brewery in the town of Dredgestone. He has two older brothers and an older sister; his oldest brother, Clovus, disappeared several years ago on a merchant voyage around the continent of Orndhal. No body was every discovered, only his horns were returned by one of the other crewmen.
After Clovus' assumed death, Brogan's father reined in his children, trying to avoid losing another child. Brogan doesn't believe his brother is really gone and would love to travel the land to find out what happened, but his father forbids it. Kept from seeing the world, Brogan became a voracious reader and would ask travelers that visited the family tavern about their exploits.
Brogan took up smithing over the family business thanks to the "suggestion" of his other brother Tiernan. Tiernan made it clear he was going to be the heir to the brewey and all but forced Brogan out after their brother vanished.
So there you go. Brogan Stoutheart, humble smith, collector of tales and stories, and maybe, just maybe, minotaur hero.

Nice back ground. He would have lots of fun hearing the tales of others as he makes weapons and ohter hardware for them. And knowing how large a blacksmith can get, I am sure someone will want him to be on a travel with them someday.

OP
Someone might take Brogan along, or he just might get swept up in a journey.

Good stuff, can't wait to hear the story. Malek Es-Torath, my character, is also a blacksmith

OP
Es-Torath? Is he from the Dragonlance setting? I mean, I think the Es and De prefixes are something Richard Knaak came up with.

Indeed they are. I felt that the contractive last names were too steriotypical of WoW and I have never really played that due to a lack of money. So I used the next thing I knew, dragonlance

Nice background to your character. Can't wait to see how the actual book goes.
