today = awesome

So yesterday, after planning out my grad paper and getting a briefing on my new part-time job (both with my advisor), I didn't get home from Lund because of lack of money on train card. Couldn't even borrow money until today.
But a friend let me crash in his apartment, and we had dinner before he went to spend the night with his girlfriend, so we could exchange experience with lacking study grants and getting all fired up over job chances (I got one translating stuff for more money than I've had from anything before; he might work with a physics and laser show at the world exhibition in China). He left after dinner; I got at least some sleep despite his cat calling for him all night.
In the morning I had breakfast there with the other guy who shares the place (who came home in the middle of the night) and could catch up with him too before he had to rush to the bus stop. I left after another shameless bit of breakfast - man their crisp bread is tasty, and OMG MILK for the first time in three weeks - to a phone booth in town where I called Dad (my cell was out of battery by now) who would be in the area around five PM and could lend me the train fare then.
I'm utterly broke so after buying a banana for lunch, I lacked one cent for the cheapest coffee vending machine (about 3 cents /cup), but I ran into a friend who showed me pity and we talked away an hour or so over coffee on PokeMon, borrowing money from friends /family, steampunk and having a Terminator themed marathon soon. We agree 100% that Lance Henriksen would've made a kick ass terminator. The things that will never be...
Then my friend Nicky bought me coffee and a sandwich for lunch and we could talk about tits, PokeMon and vampires in the cafeteria. He shopped for dinner and we switched topic to cooking and ice cream brands (I now have to try lime juice in béarnaise sauce. That sounded delicious.). I got a bear hug or two to sustain me before he took the bus home.
I strolled around window shopping; putting two books on hold 'til next week at my favorite used books store (Karl Popper's autobiography and one on Tutanchamon's life + death) and just sitting down some, trying to recap. Then I met up with Dad, who lent me a bit more money than I needed for just the train.
TL; DR? I have awesome friends and family, who make my life a lot easier if I let them, and running into them makes any day much better. And today was nice for digesting stuff and getting back on track.
I lost sleep though and I wasn't dressed for the windy weather today so hot shower + fish soup at nine was bliss and after a few hours browsing art I'm ready to topple over. Now my neighbor's shut up, so I'm gonna go sleep. ^^
