Me so worried?!?

I like to thank those who have favored my art and commented on my past few journals. though they were random dumb stuff I hope you my visitors and watchers enjoyed them. On a more important note, the job situation for me. It was 5 No thank you for the jobs I applied for last week.
Just about every day I got a new thank you by e-mail from a company regarding a position I applied for. I am feeling disheartening by this. What am I doing wrong in these interviews and how can I learn and improve myself.
I feel the bottom line is I need to be more versatile with my work and have more knowledge of what they want of me. The way I feel I need to accomplish this is to create more images for my portfolio and learn new techniques. I am going to be using lynda.com to help me in that department.
Speaking of building portfolio. I need to build up my portfolio related to the fandom. I want to get commissions from people and the only I see on going about doing this is to create are that will woo you my visitors and watchers. So that way you would want to hire me to do a print for you. Time to get cracking!!!

I finally did get a job in a related field, but I know the frustration, and the "WTF am I doing wrong," feelings.
Well, you likely are NOT doing anything wrong. Remember you're not the only one looking for work in this economy (... and it just blows my mind when I hear BO's mouth pieces saying it's getting better...).
The HR people are swamped! Don't be surprised if they have your stuff on file though for the future.
I would recommend a head hunter. Someone who specializes with the type of portfolio you've compiled so far (and may have tips to expand it).

I've actually had a chance to drive by it (being a closed studio I've never been in it) but it's huge and... they are expanding the site.
Maybe worth a shot and from the look of the link, they have 22 job listings, and give some tips and guidelines.
