it took me a bit because of how massive my C section issues were with my diabetes and all. I was on heavy pain killers and it caused me to sleep a lot, luckilly I had help with my husband and roomate to help out. Now i'm doing much better and I love being a mommy. It does make me a little sad and feel like a bad parent when I can't get her to stop crying and all... but its ok... all babies cry.

We'll find out soon enough. I feel like even now, they tend to kick in during certain situations. 9 More weeks.

It took me a while. I had maternal instincts but I was suffering through some pretty harsh stuff. I feel bad for it now but I recognize that I did have parts where I loved her even if I didn't say it. :3 Now though we're as thick as thieves.

I think, since I'm a dad, I don't have proper parental instincts.. Instead, I have a series of slowly learned routines which help me keep my son from becoming an accidental An Hero. XD

Really though, I think when he was about four months old, I was like, "Oh.... I have a son. Holy crap. .....what do I do now? "

I used to be bi and had a wife. We couldn't have a baby the normal way, so adopted. Little Ellie was so tiny she felt fragile when I held her. At first I was actually reluctant to do more than look at her but my (now late) wife encouraged me to hold Ellie with much reassurances that she wouldn't break, that she was more resilient than it seemed.
The moment my wife lay Ellie against my chest as I sat back on our couch was the moment my life suddenly changed. Here was this little scrap of humanity who was now legally mine. I couldn't believe it. I actually had no problem with nappy changing and bottle feeding and suchlike and was very protective of her. Still am. lol

Even now, as Ellie grows up, I'm still learning and am still in awe of her.
