It's nice to see someone take a stance on that. :)

I've been noting that there is a bit of an overflow of pron around here, mostly pin ups. And while there are many, many, many artists with some marvelous skill around here, I keep feeling like some of that talent is wasted.

But maybe I have them figured all wrong. Maybe the reason I only see some people posting pron on here is because they decided this place would be a pron dumping ground! I've seen a good number of people say that they only put their pron here and their REAL work elsewhere!

I mean why not post all of it here!? Show those of us who don't hop from art site to art site a chance to see ALL that you do? It just doesn't make sense to me!

I agree with you though that pron is best with a plot. Before I met my wife, back when I was single and searching for that kind of stuff, it was the stuff with a story to it that seemed to be the most appealing. Mindless sex just becomes so ho hum.

Now some people here are very talented artists and some make a living off of fur pron. If that's what they want to do, then that's fine by me. But what concerns me is that they also have a lot of people who want to be furry artists after only getting to know the pron side of things and this leads to them only drawing pron or only having the creativity enough for pron.

I think that's bad as that will lead to a pron overflow, and make it hard to distinguish one artist from another.

This leads me to try and see if there's a way to inspire other artists to do more than just the norm. To try something new and exciting. One person I talked to last night,  GlassyNeko , told me that she's got two passions: drawing and flying. Turns out she's an experienced pilot and has dreams of being a stunt pilot. After talking with her, I also learned of her interest in the mystic and supernatural. This led to giving her the idea of doing art and stories based around a pilot with a gremlin friend.

THAT is unique! And worth taking note of! It doesn't have to be sexual, but it's distinguishable enough to stand out on it's own based on the theme and story premise.

This kind of stuff deserves recognition, praise, and rewarding.

I'd like to see more of that on FA.

Yes, I have noticed that myself. It is a shame that FA is becoming a dumping ground for porn so to say. Not that there aren't many beautiful artworks around. But this is the thing, the reason why I was turned off on furry art to begin with some odd years back was the fact that all I saw of it was outright (sometimes disgusting) porn. I immediately became disgusted with it, but thanks to some wonderful artists on dA and some other sites, I've started to like furry art just as much as any other artwork. Sangluna for example has extraordinary beautiful artwork. And then there is the very cute artwork that people like to do. (I admit Lando has some very cute art even if its yiff and cubart at that). None the less I must say the cuteness got me back into the genre, wish it did earlier. As for glassyneko, that really is fascinating. Very unique to say the least. ^^

I've heard of people basically calling this place their trashy-porn-all-over-the-flippin'-place site, too. I was on DA a few weeks ago to check out this new-to-this-site girls' gallery, and her watchers there even called FA a trashy porn site. That FA is known for such things is just plain sad. Then some of the people here have the nerve to get mad when outsiders call our community kinky/perverted!! WTF?! It's not like anyone here is trying to fix that overall opinion by not doing the kinds of art they can get away with here!!! There is a lot to know about the anthro community, but if this were my first time here as a parent, I'd think we were crazed, too.

Anyway, I don't mind casual, or even sensual nudity (I get lazy and often don't feel like drawing clothes :P), but there are certain.....fluids (oh yeah, it's plural!!)....that my darling eyes could seriously do without gazing upon. Which leaves me rather unnerved about the person who thought said fluid was attractive.

Cute and cuddly is fun, detailed and dynamic is fun, but there are plenty of days I don't feel like looking at the latest reinvention of the penis.

Yeah I heard that so much when I was on Y, gallery... Ironic since that is a pornographic site as well. (But Y has a terrible community and a ridiculous mod-team)- but that aside... I don't mind porn, I don't hate it... But I try to steer away from it (aside from my yaoi lmao). I will say this thought, I would rather see the yuri-yiff before the yaoi. I'm sorry I just don't like beastie-penis. This is probably why I prefer ZEN's art compared to many as it is a human >> *ponders word* organ, that works. None the less, fluids can be gross >< very... And I do not like anything with toilet-kink... Ugh. Which SA was starting to get ramped before they closed their mature artworks down. But that aside cute and cuddly is awesome, and so is detailed and dynamic. ^^
