After almost 2 years of service i have finally retired my Fuji s700 to make way for my Canon 10D. I may use it from time to time again as I do have alot of sd cards that my dslr wont take

Get an SD > CF adapter. They're only like $5 on eBay, or $20 at any reputable camera store. That should be helpful.

Never had a problem with mine, and it's 3rd party. Nothin against your camera, but you're working with smaller images and a much lower frame rate than with, say, a 7D or a 5D2. Speed would not and should not be an issue. A dedicated card reader for an SD card isn't a bad thin either, but the adapters can be used in readers too.
