I could go the obvious route and say its probably because shes seeming about to step off the page the background is in, but for the sake of thoroughness... Taking note of the shadows caused by parts of her own anatomy helps lend to a feel of visual depth that isn't possible with something flat and paper-like. Another part that helps lend to a more 3d like depth is the small space between her legs where you can see her tail behind her. Furthermore this is also helpfully conveyed when looking at her breasts...they just say to me they're nice and rounded. Looking at her foremost foot it appears that she is really applying weight as if preparing to move forward some more, this I say is evidenced by the slight flattening of her foremost toe/claw, lending to a bit of reality to form. But that is just my impression of the piece just by looking at it.
