after a few days of PC problems i am finally back!

hopefully here to stay. sorry folks that i've been away for so long, my PC Power supply started to make noise so i had to get a new 1, then the new 1 went bad a few days later so we had to get a new 1 again (note if your ever in Barbados and u need computer parts don't buy from D.E. computers i learned that this week and i was 1 of the lucky ones). so after that we got a 3rd 1, that 1 didn't work at 1st but thanks to the techs we got it from were able to get it to work, turns out that it was hooked up wrong and the HD cable was in upside down so it was causing a short. i am going to name my PC power slayer after all this lol. will i am back now and its good to be back. i got a lot of caching up to do so i'll be around as always.

thank you! computers are really touchy things, if the new power supply didn't have all the safety functions it did I'd more then likely still be offline.

When we moved on the first of the month, not only did we have to wait for AT&T to set up our DSL, my Windows XP quit on me.

sorry to hear that, did you have to reinstall it or was it just not starting?

I'm uncertain what the tech did when he came out to the house. He discovered a bad sector on the harddrive and the Windows XP program happened to occupy that sector, so it failed upon start-up. Fortunately, I didn't lose anything.

ah i see. i think the tech either reinstalled windows and deleted the bad sector or just reinstalled windows over the bad sector. either way that's when it pays to have windows in 1 part of your HD and all your stuff on a different part, that way you can fix 1 with out losing the other.

The one thing I hope to get very soon is an external harddrive. Next will be an upgrade in processing speed and RAM.
