I don't really get it, either. I got bored enough to wander into a few chatrooms on deviantART, and the first question I was asked in every one of them was what species I am.
Depending on my mood, I typically answer this question with either human or gnat. Apparently using "human" in one of the rooms I wandered into was highly offensive for reasons I still can't figure out.
Seriously, am I so rare in this fandom as to not have a "fursona" (and I rutting hate that word, for the record)?
I'm just gonna start saying "gnat" wherever I go, I think. I've already done it on a few message boards, but that shall now be the official party line.

No fursona here either... I usually just don't bother socializing in big ways so as to avoid offending people.

yep, it's mandatory but most people put something silly. Believe it or not lost of those fields are mandatory for secret coding projects in the background... or idea for projects I dropped
And by "again," I clearly meant because y'all changed EVERYTHING in the few months I was more or less offline. =P
