Hey, guys... I wouldn't usually resort to this, but I need all the help (financially) that I can get right now. And though I'm not really expecting anything much to come from it, I might start commissions.
I can't start yet, but before I start at all, I need an idea of how to price them, and also how many people might want one.
IMPORTANT
These prices have been doubled since yesterday, due to recommendations from you guys.
I'm pretty sure these prices are okay, considering you guys told me to do this. XD
Please tell me if I'm charging too much or too little, as usual.
Writing in Bold Italics means it is currently unavailable due to lack of materials or time.
Small pictures (700 x 700).
Single Char sketch
$4
Single char polished line art
$8
Single char colored.
$10 - Cell shaded.
$12 - Painted.
(Additional $5 for background)
(Additional $4 each for extra chars)
You can ask for a larger image , but the price increases with the space.
Pinups (waist to head shots of single char; comes with background.)
$18 - Cell shaded
$22 - Painted
Wallpaper sized images. These prices can vary depending on the request.
$8 - 800 x 600
$15 - 1024 x 768
$18 - 1280 x 720
$23 - 1280 x 800
Avatars
$4 – 300x300
$10 – Small package (1x 300x300, 1x 150x150, 1x 100x100, 1x 50x50)
NOTE: Be careful with these! Some sites have size regulations regarding avatars.
Well, there you have it. Please tell me what you think and give me some advice on pricing, I haven't opened up commissions before, and I'm worried I'm over/undercharging. As you know my art isn't the best out there, so I tried making them cheap. :)

Think of it this way ... first of all, how long does it take you to do a drawing? How does that translate to an hourly pay rate? Make sure you're at least paying for your own time.
And secondly, if you bid too low, you could find yourself running way short on time. If you charge $2 a sketch and it takes you 30 minutes per sketch (and remember you need time to read descriptions, think about them, and email each of those files to the person), and you get pounced with 50 sketch requests, you've now made $100 but committed yourself to about 25 hours of work ... or 3 full days of sketching ... or about $4 an hour for hard, specialized work.
Just some things to think about. :)
But... how much do you recommend I inflate the prices?
I mean at these prices I'd probably buy stuff easily but thats not fair to you.
i dunno maybe go for say $10 for a single character sketch? maybe more?
I recommend looking at prices other artists use a bit too... your skills are worth more than you think :)
Your REALLY undercharging yourself amigo trust me.
As everyone else is saying here.
Check other artists prices adn the like.
Hell. I'm selling badges for 15 a pop. You can EASILY sell one of your sketches for about that if not more I'd think to be frank and honest :3

Maybe figure out another pay level and post it. I've been trying to save back myself, but if its sort of a really need to thing for you.... that and you've got some really great stuff!

I officially order my main character, colored. In which way I leave to you. I will pay you ten because you are great.^^ But I won't be here the next week, so take you time or wait until I am back, although I am confessed you will make a great job on it.

If you're really geting through with accepting commissions, sign me up! I'm willing to pay a GOOD price instead of a price that's way too cheap.
