I figured I should actually follow this up. Even if it's been 5 months (holy crap where has time gone?)

The cats figured out that pressing down on the printer buttons resulted in fascinating noises. Being curious buggers they would stick their paws into the machine and mess with the incoming paper. They've seem to have lost interest in it of late. They must have figured out the process or simply forgotten.
