While the violence might not have been, in my opinion, overdone from an objective point of view (it's art, there shouldn't be any limits on what you can draw!), that kind of thing just isn't to my taste. I vastly prefer snuff where the dying individual wants the event to happen, anticipates it, even participates. Granted, I usually enjoy fantasy stuff where he or she is much happier than the tearful suicide you posted here, but I'll take what I can get.

I'm pretty sure a large part of the whole asphyxia "thing" is that air panic is a kind of excitement equal in intensity to sexual fervor... so just like regular masochists use other forms of pain to induce pleasure, we fantasize about erotic asphyxiation. (Unfortunately, since I have no way of returning from death in real life, I must avoid any experimentation with it there--the last time I did any experiments with asphyxiation was in elementary school, when I nearly passed out holding my breath in the library...)

Hanging is a double dip there for me, since it also plays into a particular form of snuffie I prefer: execution fantasy. The thought of seeing one's impending doom approaching, of a friend helping set everything up, playing the role of the cold "justice system" in putting together a machine whose sole purpose is to cause my death with 100% effectiveness... yum. Of course, a prime component of snuffie as opposed to snuff is the return from the grave, the notion that, because this is fantasy and not reality, one can experience an erotic death multiple times.

Most snuff art shows one point in time, just before, just after, or during death, and so for it to truly be snuffie, either resurrection must be implied, or merely imagined with the dying character being so willing as to reassure the viewer that it's not all bad. I've seen very few exceptions from artists who don't already do specifically snuffie art; one in particular was a multi-image series by , in which a character based on his MMORPG character got eaten by a plant and respawned afterward in true game fashion.

One final note, something more can be taken from real-life executions that ties in to yet ANOTHER fetish of mine, making some precious few hanging pictures a TRIPLE trigger for me. In death, the body releases bladder and bowels, and many states and countries will force a diaper on the condemned to avoid having to see a grim reminder of this harsh reality. But as a babyfur, I like wearing diapers, so tacking one on to an execution pic is awesome. Oh, what's this?

I don't think you did anything wrong. I liked it, although it didn't press all the right buttons for me. Everyone has different tastes; I wouldn't worry about it too much if some pieces are less popular than others.

Regarding asphyxia, I'm not sure I can put into words why I'm so drawn to hanging. All I can say for certain is that I like it. I like most forms of snuff, but for whatever reason I've always been attracted to more torturous methods. I like the prolonged, painful nature of hanging and the helplessness of the victim, but there's probably more to it than that. I may have to get back to you on that.

Don't beat yourself up over it, people are strange creatures. You may draw a pic you think its "meh" and everyone on your list loves the hell out of it while you draw a piece you're uber proud of and people don't care much for it. Hell, my personal favorite pic of my own gallery has the lowest view counts and comments and I slaved over the pic.

But hey, just draw for yourself and share with the rest, don't force yourself to please everyone. Though if you ever care to draw another female getting injured, I would suggest it being more brutal and that'll prolly get my attention, that pic was too mild in my taste of violence. I know, I'm a twisted fuck...
