And Another Thing... (a H2G2 post)

So, I decided to finally locate and give Eoin Colfer's And Another Thing... (the sixth book of the Hitchhiker's Guide trilogy) a go.
It... feels like fanfiction. And not even particularly good fanfiction, really. It's not nearly cheeky enough in some areas, too cheeky in other areas, and doesn't capture Douglas Adams' voice at all.
I honestly think the only reason I'm able to get through it is because Simon Jones is reading it aloud to me, and he spent a considerable amount of time portraying Arthur Dent in radio and television serials, so he's quite intimately familiar with many of these characters.
Also, save a few tirades in later books, the series got on JUST FINE with excellent oral hygiene. All this "fat arse" and "holy shit" is just killing it.

FA+

I'm thinking of cleansing my pallet later on with So Long, and Thanks
Boy, that must have been confusing? lol
Though it was still pretty funny, and made me want to read the rest of the series, so... it worked out all right.
