Bank of America can blow me
So...
Well, Bank of America has proved for the second time that they have tremendous ability to SUCK! This last week almost at the end of the month, my boyfriend got hit with a bunch of charges that were dated for 3 weeks ago! they're supposed to go through, but due to a bank blunder, (which even the phone rep spotted, but was unable to do anything about) they hit very late. the rep told us the best thing we could do was yank his money out before the rest of the charges hit (apparently, due to BOA's shuffling of debits and credits to arrange them largest to smallest, MORE charges were coming). so we did. Bank of America has stolen from us for the last time. I pulled my account last time, and now my boyfriend has pulled his.
I can't believe a class action suit or something hasn't been started against this bank! It's unbelievable the shit they get away with! And it seems like everyone that I talk to that's dealt with this bank, has a horror story of their own to relate about it. One word of warning for those of you who are thinking that their bank might be pulling the same shit, or looking for a bank. Ask if they reorder debits and credits from largest to smallest. and if they do, AVOID THEM!! Because that's the same software that Bank of America uses, and nothing that it does can be undone. They will fight you tooth and nail not to have to change it, even to the point that you'll drop them as a bank! I'm glad that the one rep we talked to on the phone this last time, was so candid and honest about how Bank of America works.
We found a decent Credit Union in the area, we'll be going with that instead, I think the rep was surprised at the slew of questions I ran past her. But I wanted to be sure that the next time we trust our money to someone, they don't bend us over and fuck us with it. We nearly couldn't pay our rent this month in large part due to their blunder, and the last time they fucked up it cost me personally $300. None of which they would reimburse, even though they reimburced my boyfriend, who they claimed made a mistake that caused MY account to get overdrawn. (if you want, you can read the details in my post <a href="http://xoagray.livejournal.com/7968.....p;lt;/a>.

I can go eat them if you want O.O
Dragon like food with the seasoning of money o.o
Sorry to hear about your horrors hun. *hugs* In my opinion, all banks suck royally in some way, and you always lose money. It's honestly cheaper to have your checks cashed through Amscot. :/ I remember when I had to do that. Was a lot better and my money was MY money.
As far as AMSCOT goes, it's a good place if you don't have any alternatives, but the only thing I've seen them do cheaper than anyone else, is money orders. Cashing a personal check is 10% of the check! It took me $10 to get a $100 check cashed the other day! That's an uber rip off. Even if it's a government check, or a payroll check, you're still going to get charged about $7 to cash it. They're convenient, but they're far from cheap. For anything outside a personal check, I'd go to Wal-Mart, they only charge $3 to cash checks. And if you've got your own bank account, usually you can get a check cashed for nothing, regardless of type.
Good luck with BOA, here's hoping that you don't need it. *hugs*
I really do hate banks. Fortunately, when I cashed my checks at AMSCOT, I made friends with them there, and they'd only charge me a few bucks each time I had to cash a check. If I had a $500 check, I'd get about $495 back. :3 I just sweet talked them whenever I went in... plus they gave me a shit load of candy. XD If I had a tiny check, they'd only take out $1. Sadly, as you know, there isn't an AMSCOT or even a Wal-Mart close by worth it to cash it at one of those places and then put the money in the bank. Oh well. XD If BoA sucks royally soon, I'll try SunTrust. If not, there is a Citizen's Bank, as well. XD
I can't believe AMSCOT is doing that for you! They wanted to charge me $30 to cash a $300 check! their policy on personal checks is hiway robbery!
Though, they are good for some things, like getting money orders, if you can give them cash for them. (no charge)
Since I got married and moved to daytona and switched over to Wachovia, I've not had a problem.
They don't keep charging you if you do go over.
But you should find another bank that suits you. :)
