To be fair, its all about luck. I'm Irish and I get in for these occassionally out of sheer luck despite the timezones. Some people are just on at the 'popular' times for posting journals and check their journals more than other people, so they are ready for these.

That's a bad excuse not to try, in my opinion. Thats like saying 'I won't go for that job, there are 3 people better qualified then me'. If thats the chase, go in as hard and fast as possible, its not going to hurt you or anything if you fail, its always a good idea to try.

that is true....but as far as jobs go, i believe you should apply for ones that you are qualified for. like if you see a house cleaning job open, but you cant even clean you own room, dont apply, but say a comp repair job is open and you can build one from scratch then try that one.

as far as excuse for not trying to nab free art, i prefer the forums. FAF has a LOT of threads where people give away art to those that give interesting ideas. people stand a better chance there than on these little journals.

I've gotten a cleaning job when I have always been a useless job, and I've held it for a year so far while I'm still a student, and I got into IKEA with no knowledge on furniture at all before that. :P Just because you aren't qualified doesn't mean you can't win overall, and that counts with this too. I'll try for any of these I can, not out of greed, just because the more I try, the more chances I have.

i usually dont have the time though. considering im talking here, and working on a multi-chapter story for a commissioner at the moment. Usually when i spot them in my log, they are 10 or more days old as i dont log on but for a few minutes each time.

this is my reason for not trying. Im never there...and when i am, i usually break one of the rules. like he said no multiple posts...i would have forgotten to put a ref, then gone back and put one in a second post...then been disqualified for my horrible memory.
