oh well i don't like big tablets I like small ones but obviously as far as quality goes wacom is great. I can't speak from personal experience as far as giant intuos & stuff goes but if it isn't obvious thats what most people have & they like them.

PERSONALLY i'm a fan of the bamboo fun but not the new rectangle version because it looks ugly um lmao

Wacom is the best brand, for sure. Every other brand is caca dookie

I prefer larger tablets because I like the space for my arm to move. I get cramped with small tablets, but it's up to personal pref.

Since you are just starting out again I would start small and like amb0rg said just said and get the bamboo and if you want to upgrade then go from there. A small intuos would be good too.

Wacom is a dependable choice. It's the brand I use. I have kind of a small one, but they come in a variety of sizes.

I have a Wacom Intuos 4, 4x6, and I love it to pieces. The touch ring on the side for canvas rotation/zoom and the buttons I can program for undo/redo/copy/cut/paste have pretty much eliminated my need to use the keyboard while I draw altogether - plus I can set it's orientation any which way I want (I'm a lefty so tablets that have their buttons on the top or left side hinder more than help). I also use small strokes so I prefer the smaller size, but I think they go up to 9x12.

Kinda pricey though (mine was given as payment for a commission) but WELL worth it in my opinion.

I have an intuos 4 and love it. Have had wacom bamboos in the past but they tend to crap out after a year.

best tablet is really a matter of what's best FOR YOU. i could say the intuos is the best, especially the big ones. but some people dont like working with big tablets. there's this one awesome artist who actually like using a mouse. and some prefer the small 4x5 ones especially cuz theyre portable. i have a cintiq cuz im a queermo but some people dont like how smooth it is. go to a store that has some out on display and try em all out!

Most will say Wacom straight away, but Genius and Trust have been making some nice stuff. While other brands don't beat an Intuos in features (my guessing is that Wacom is a whore when it comes to patents), I think a Genius M609X is a better deal than any Bamboo out there.

I used to have an intous but i later moved on to a bamboo because the surface felt more like paper then the intous which is very smooth.

bamboo are rly rly cheap, i would say start there.

I'd go with everyone elses' recommendation and go with the Bamboo. When I was first looking around for a tab, the Bamboo was the one that caught my eye the most. Whist I took the plunge and got an Intuous 3 (I wanted something bigger basically because I thought I would find it less awkward) the bamboo looks ideal for someone trying to get back into using tabs. It just depends on how much space you feel you need.
