Anyone have any tips on how one can lose body fat?

General
I use the term Body fat, as body fat & weight, technically are not the same thing.
Weight I know can be numerous things like body fat, msucle tissue and perhaps other related things.
For me, I find it a tad hard to do exercise. I mean, I am lucky if say, I am able to ride my bike around the block in say, under 10-15 minutes or so.
I mean, heck, yes I could walk it with ease in that time, and probably walk a LONG time before needing to rest. But for me, I get the feeling that in order to lose body fat, I would need to do exercises that get my heart eating more. For me, things like biking are one thing that works great with that.
I am sure some of you would suggest things like running or jogging, but for me, I get the feeling that my joints and knees would not like the aspects of 259 pounds crashing on and off of them.
Maybe it is just me and me being in a "phaze" or something, but I am curious. I get the feeling that I really need to lose body weight so I can be healthier, but I also know that for me, it is hard to keep up with things.
Not only that, I have noticed that after doing the exercizes, a few hours later, it is as though my body says it just wants to crash and sleep.
Also, I am sure that aspects of losing body fat involve something to get your heart rate going and burning more calories then one intakes. But, it seems that just about everything these days is so unhealthy for you. Me, I absolutly can't stnad eating salads as when it comes to food and textures, it would be like say, 100 teachers scraping a chalk board with that really nasty twinge that you could get in your neck and spine. For me, that is pretty much every time I bite down into something that has a texture like lettuce/salad/etc.
Granted, then it makes me wonder if I am missing out on certain nutrients and whatnot my body may need.
Sorry, I think I am just rambling/ranting a bit. ^_^;
Also, I do wonder if these thoughts say, were brought on by reading the entire Capre Diem Comic as well as Profile's Comic at least from a few days back.
I am sure some of you know at times aspects of stories affect me quite deeply due to my way of thinking about them. For those that don't know me, I tend to think that aspects of stories while they may be fiction in this realm of existance/universe, they are real in their own world/realm and that those who are artists/writers, have a form of psychic or other form of connection to that realm and have the capability to transfer the experiances in those thoughts into a medium for others to read and enjoy.
Anywho, anyone have any tips who say, have lost body fat? Ways that might work best for losing body fat, but at the same time, doing it in a manner (and if nessisary) combined with say, weight lifting so one doesn't end up with flabby loose flaps of skin that I think can happen with others?
I am curious to hear your opinions or thoughts on the matter.

You don't have to eat salads to get skinny, but it is a suggested method as salads are nutrient dense foods. Meaning you can eat less without sacrificing the nutrients and minerals your body would nee, and also you would be in-taking less calories.
I would suggest doing more with your walking, such as going uphills, and taking stairs.
As for making fat go away in a short period of time, there are surgery methods. But if you want to naturally get rid of your fat, you would have to take some patience and great care on what kind of food you eat, and how much food you eat. One may eat unhealthy foods, as long as they have the time to get rid of the calories. Fast food are cheap, but aren't nutritionally balanced for a healthy diet.
If you can walk great distances without being winded, then that's a sign that you are healthy in some aspect. There are healthy heavy people out there, as long as you can exercise your organs that help keep your body safe and balance. Start off small, and keep a healthy mood as well.
For me, I normally only eat two main meals a day, Lunch and dinner.
I have gotten pretty good when it comes to aspects of ice cream as a few years ago I would probably load up a whole bowl full of it, then I wet down to say a small maybe 5 or 6 inch high small cup and eventually, I realized that the so called "craving" for ice cream isn't to stuff myself silly with it, but say, have maybe a few spoonfuls to get rid of the craving of needing the taste.
I wonder if that tip would be possibly of some help to others that if their bodies crave something, dont dive into it head first, but maybe do small "Doses" so that it is where you can deal or ignore.
Anywho, I shall read and do a better reply later, but for now, I must head off to bed here. ^_^ Thanks for the input. Oh, and thanks also for that image. Sorry I forgot to take a pic of it and uplaod it. >_<
And you can make shakes and juices, as long as you know what to add or what will be good tasting. Don't over do it with sweeteners or sugar, but also eating the fruits itself is suggestible. There are alternatives to eating vegetables, but that will take a more experience nurtionalist to properly tell you about what foods to eat or not.
And as for big meals, DO NOT FORGET ABOUT BREAKFAST! It's an important meal, as your body is recharging from the night before. Skimping breakfast is highly discouraged, and if you cannot eat breakfast, at least eat something small. Your body will thank you later.
And no problem.
Granted, I remember back in High school I was able to leg press around 300 pounds I believe. Granted, I really doubt I could do half of that now. UNfortunatly I do not know of a gym close to me. Granted, simply walking to it might me a days workout in itself, but for me, I would think I would want a combo of cardio and weights. Granted, I do wonder if my mind would wonder about thoughts of wondering if say, others would be watching or commenting or judging me on how or what I do, you know? Or perhaps that particular thought is just aspects of mild tiredness talking and making me think things I normaly wouldn't. Eh, whatever. ^_^;
I know a while back I would do swimming once a week and that was decent. Granted it was probably only an hour or so, but still, it was exersize. I also wonder if I am worrying as this is the first time in AGES where my weight has passed the 250 pound mark as for me, it always was in the 230-245 range. Never goig higher or lower then those numbers.
Also, I have found it crazy how everything food wise has SO much freaking sodium. How is one supposed to cut back on sodium when say, a simple cheese and ham sandwich has a messload of sodium. A single slice of cheese having around 320mg of sodium? Maybe two slices of break having 300-500mg of sodium, and whatever the ham does? It's crazy. Some people say that you really should have only 500mg of sodium a day, others say you need more and that Daily requirement thingy seems to think a figure I think of around 2500mg of sodium a day is needed. @_@ Makes my head spin. I suppose one good think is that I try to drink as much water as I can. For me, I have to make sure to have a bottle or two in the fridge nice and cold as I can't stand drinking room temperature/warm water. >.< I suppose that is one good thing. Less sugars and whatnot going into me.
My dad is on that Jenny Craig diet and has been for a decent amount of time and seems to have lost maybe 60 pouns or so. But to me, I doubt I could eat the stuff they label as "Food". Not only that, I get the feeling that if he were to switch back to normal foods, the weight would be put on in no time due to how a lot of that food seems like it could or would taste to something like say, cardboard. >.< Though, I do envy his ability to stick with something and not diverge, and his abbility to not have to worrry about food textures like I do. ^_^;
Anywho, sorry if I am talking too much, being on the verge of tiredness makes me ramble and unable to stop talking. ^_^; The thing is, I wonder what would be deemed a "small" meal. A meal that fills you up say, the equivilant of two packets of oatmeal? I use that stuff that comes in the large sylinder and pour maybe the equivilant of 1.5 packets and then add a spoon or two of peanut butter for flavor and thickening agent.
Sorry for the flood of questions, I at times think when I am tired, my mental filters are disabled and allow thoughts to floow my brain like a tidal wave. ^_^;
I lost about 4-6 pounds each week on this diet.
Depending on your activity level, your caloric intake varies. I am not very active at the moment, only doing my daily exercises for half an hour to an hour. For my "lazy" activity level, I only need 1500 calories. My husband is more active due to working and exercises on top of that. He needs 2000 calories. He has lost over 50 pounds just from changing what he eats. I have lost about 50 to 100 pounds, I was over 400 pounds when I started.
Keep your sodium low as you can. Sodium raises blood pressure and can contribute to heart disease. Most "processed" foods are high sodium because salt is a preservative. When you can, look for "No Salt Added" on packaging. Ham is processed in one of 2 ways, Sugar Cure and Salt Cure.
If you are a big soda drinker, try and cut back. the carbonation and sweeteners induce weight gain. Even diet soda will keep you from properly digesting food and slow your weight lose. Drinking water is the best for weight loss as that water has no calories or sodium... or anything bad. Juices you need to read the label, some juices are nothing more than sugar water and flavoring. The V8 Brand is a great way to go for juices because they are all juice and if you have trouble with veggies, they have the V8 Fusion line that hide the veggies under fruit. Carrot juice blends seamlessly with orange juice so give it a try.
When you can get away with it, move. I do exercises daily but I bounce my legs while on the computer, I shift from foot to foot when waiting in line... I try to keep moving at all times. I hate sitting still for too long.
I weigh about 185, (lost 15 recently), and I cut back on my total daily calorie intake to 1200. While some say this is unhealthy, I also do a fair share of exercise. If you don't want to walk, you can join me in the Hundred Pushups. Its a 6/7 week course, free, in which you will be able to complete 100 Pushups. But they also have links for 200 situps and 200 squats. While implementing 25 Pullups.
Ok, yes... not what you wanted to hear. Exercise. But honestly... doing all 3 of those takes about 45 minutes in all for me, might be a little different for you. And not to sound like ad on TV. But to me, 45 minutes a day, 3x a week to get in decent shape. Is well worth it. (Though, I'm also getting some running in~)
All in all, the only real way to lose weight, is to eat small meals. 6-10 times a day. DEFINITELY stop skipping breakfast. Oh! Cold Water. Drink Cold Water, even a glass before bed will help. Your body will have to burn calories to heat up the water to digest it. Instead of Oreo's, eat an apple. 1 Apple = 2 Oreo Cookies in calories, but the apple will fill you up. Trail Mix and Beef Jerky: Handful of nuts and a strip or 2 of jerky every hour and half.
All the small meals inbetween breakfast and dinner, will help curb your appetite at the major meals, and you won't (or shouldn't) eat as much. But yeah, if running/walking ain't your thing, look into the hundred pushups!
When you go to stores, park far away from the store in the parking lot, walk. Do chores, do lawn work, anything to stay active. You don't have to do strenuous activities to lose body fat. Swimming is one of the best exercises and summer is coming up.
You'll lose body fat at a slower rate- but that's the best way to lose it.
Cut fast food and soda from your diet to start (if you haven't already). Eat more vegetables and fruit. Eat fibrous food.
Also keeping a log of what you eat and the exercise you do everyday will help you stay on track.
As for the walking, yes it would be good if I were able to motivate myself to walk everyday, but for me things like a "goal/reward" of losing body fat or whatnot just doesn't seem to work. For me, things like, say, walking to a store I go to so I can pick up foods I dont eat that often is a goal that can motivate me into doing that stuff. I at times do not like that it is so hard to motivate myself. >_<
I used to do swimming a lot a couple years ago, but alas, that had no effect on cutting fat off of my body and I did it for around a year. Granted, it may have been once or twice a week for an hour doing laps back and forth across the pool, but still. Despite all of that, no change in weight or body fat as far as I was able to tell.
I have done my best to cut soda out of my diet, drinking mostly icy cold water. Though at times, my mouth gets tired of the non flavored aspects of water and at times needs a sip or two of soda. I try to allow 1 can or so last me a whole day, taking just a few sips to get the flavor craving out of my head.
Fast food however is something I definetly need to work on. I at times wonder if there is like some ingredient they put in where if you don't eat a certain amount of it within a certain span of time, it makes you crave it and junk. Combine that with the cheap $1 things that can taste quite good and that spells trouble. >_<
