Lift Hard.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the term, Netorare is the Japanese term for
the genre of Eroge (erotic game) that deal with the protagonist's lover or object of
affection being stolen away. IE. cheating. In most cases it usually involves a female
being seduced, blackmailed, or just in general being made unavailable emotionally or
sexually to the person who has a love (either requited or not) for her.
TLDR is at the bottom but I wanted you to know about the term first!
Examples always help. These are cliched but it works to expand on the idea for
people who dont really get variations on the theme.
1. The Wife loves her husband and he loves her, but he is called away on business
or they have a fight and he leaves for an undisclosed period of time. A neighbor who's
been infatuated with the wife takes the opportunity of her husband's absence to
seduce her. Over time she comes to have feelings for the neighbor but doesn't lose
her love for her husband either.
2. Same scenario as example 1. but let's add in blackmail as a way to get the adultery
going. The woman is blakmailed with evidence of a crime she committed or an affair she
had earlier as a means to get her to sleep with the blackmailer. In this scenario over time
she could either remain unwilling or becomes a willing participant in the ordeal.
3. High School boy has a unrequited love for the most beautiful girl in school. They are
childhood friends but he has never had the courage to confess his feelings. His indecisiveness
has lead him to over-analyze the repercussions of revealing his feelings. Cue in the jackass womanizer
who sets his sights on the girl and "steals" away.
Now I will confess and surely it's no secret that I peruse and read through my share of
Adult Manga. For one they are great reference material for poses and whatnot.. ok enough
trying to justify my perversions... anyway... In my experience, given the myriad number of genres in
Hentai; from rape, bestiality, incest, shota, loli, creeping, MILF, hell even scat. Netorare seems to illicit the
biggest response from people.
I only bring this up because I've been toying with the idea of doing a short handful of pages
furry comic with this subject in mind. But a few years ago when I was doodling non furry doujinshis
I did a three page comic about it too and the response I got was so overwhelmingly
negative. Comments like "you're wasting your talent" to "this is garbage" "pointless" and on and on.
There were a couple of, what i saw as, valid points. Like the genre objectifies women.
And I do agree. It just happens that most of the stories have the woman being stolen away but
the gender roles could easily be switched and I think it would still cause the same uproar.
I've been thinking about it recently and in my opinion I think it mainly had to do with the audience
of people who were vocal enough to pelt me and the genre with criticism. I mean sure it may not
be their cup of tea but why get their feathers ruffled? Calling the woman who cheats a slut and a whore
when she's completely fictional?
I guess they just put themselves in the situation of person being cheated on and work in the emotions
of betrayal that must come when the adultery is discovered.
I'm not advocating cheating on your significant other here. or vindicating those who have cheated.
just toying around with a story with adult situations. Sure I could do adult stories where adultery isnt
involved and it's just happy romantic baby making. I mean I will.
But what's wrong with a sordid tale of lust every now and then?

What are your opinions about the genre? and If I were to draw say a short 5-6 page story about it
would you think less of me? Would you unwatch me?

If you do draw it, I just wont look at it. Just like the other artists I like who sometimes draw things I don't really like or outright hate.

I myself like the "Netorare" genre. I didn't even know it had a specific term to describe it! I think sometimes people forget that this is porn, sometimes it's meant to illicit thoughts about reality and other times it is purely fictional. Do blackmail type things happen in real life? Probably. Do they happen to the extent in Netorare? Probably not.
Also, I just wanted to state that I don't like when women are objectified in real life. But in porn or the genres you listed, who really cares? I mean, it's porn for god sake.
If you do a blackmail theme, I'm with you. If you do it though, make it really badass and awesome so that even if people don't necessarily 'agree' with the theme, they can't deny the awesomeness of the quality, Screw the naysayers.
granted i could be accused of hypocrisy since i refuse to draw cub art, scat and a few other
things and that stuff would be ficitonal but I'm the one drawing them! lol
I think that people would be more more likely turned away from your art if you DID draw stuff like scat, cub, loli, ect and not blackmail/eroge type stuff. Also, everyone on this earth is a hypocrite in some way. AND like I mentioned earlier--> you are the one drawing the stuff, you can do whatever you want.
I personally wouldnt have a problem with such a story as long as the sex was consentual, and not glorifying the issue. If it was dealt with realistically I am fine with it. Stuff like rape or incest are the main things that turn my 'morals' against something, and I dont think I could enjoy a story/doujin like that no matter how nice the art was.
At the end of the day though you should draw whatever you like to please yourself, and as long as fair warning is given (titles, thumbnails etc) nobody really has any room to complain.
So to answer your questions; no, I would not think any less of you if you decided to draw this mini-comic. I don't believe in censoring any kind of medium, unless it involves excruciating torture. No, I would not unwatch you for this reason at all. The only possible reason I would ever unwatch someone is if 1. They switched to a new account and kindly asked me to unwatch the old, or 2. for some reason, started sending me a bunch of negative or threatening shouts, notes, or comments.
I believe you should be able to create anything your heart, mind, (or lust) desires and I will point out the good in it, instead of treating someone like a heartless monster.
it just happens more often in shoujou manga which i will admit i do read too lol
