Ive always found that flareon and Espeon seemed really weak, but usually i get an eevlutionthat goes well with my party, since a balanced party is always an important thing to me

All of them have their good and bad points. I am using a Glaceon, mainly cause Ice is a solid type, and there are two Dragon-type heavyweights in the game.
Vaporeon has huge HP, so it can last the distance. Umbreon is more defensive...good for stalling your foes. Espeon has huge special attack and speed, so it can hit hard and fast with Psychic. Leafeon is an excellent choice, if you are willing to put up with the Grass type's 4 weaknesses... I don't use Flareon (never have), and you already have Ampharos for your electric type.
So...If you want power with low defense, go for Glaceon, Espeon or Leafeon. Or go Umbreon or Vaporeon for staying power.

The Dancing Kimono Girls you face later on in the game give good examples of just how tough those cute lil Eeveelutions can be. I actually almost lost against them...the girl with the Espeon wiped out three of my Pokemon with Psychic...scary stuff.
