Normally I’m a laid back kind of person. But there’s 2 things that some of my friends are doing that are really starting to irk me off.
1) Talking or complaining about Relationship issues more than a few weeks.
Normally… I don’t mind listening to relationship issues… that’s the kind of guy I am. But when it lasts longer than a few weeks then you lost me. After a few months I no longer care.
Firstly its not the fact that their complaining about their relationship issues… its why their complaining about them.
1)“Oh the person I’m with doesn’t love me.”
2)“Oh the person says “I’m not worthy” or something similar/worse.”
3)“Oh the person is going back to dating his ex.”
If this is the case than my response would be if I was ever brave enough to state it would be. “Drop that person and go out and find someone else.” I mean its kind of obvious if the relationship isn’t working then to stop the relationship right there and be done with it. Its hard yes… but if it isn’t working then why bother beating a dead horse with a stick?
2) Complaining about their life and how it sucks.
Same as #1… I don’t mind listening to life issues. But when they start complaining about the same or practically the same thing over and over again… I’m sorry but I start getting tired of listening to it.
My response if I was brave enough to actually say this to my friends would be. “Figure out what the problem(s) is/are and try and solve them.” And don’t forget to ask for help and/or advice.
This isn’t to say that I don’t care completely about certain things. There are something’s that get my attention.
1) Being the victim of rape, attempted rape, or assault. This will most definitely get my attention, and I most definitely listen to my friends about this.
2) Friend or Family member death. This also will get my attention.
There they are… now I’m going to feel bad because I feel bad for complaining about something like that.
