WTF Files, Pt. 1
Hoo boy, it's been a long long while since I've posted anything (read: I've never posted anything of real worth), so I figure that a good start would be to start a series! What kind of series, you ask? Get out of my head, for one. For two, a series of short descriptions concerning yours truly. Hopefully, it might spark some imagination, some debate, maybe even some feedback, regarding character creation, description, evolution and maintenance. So, without further ado, let's delve into the first part of my personal WTF File.
What, exactly, is a Dranth?
A pertinent question indeed! Kyowai, my fursona, is a Dranth. When I first created him, he was initially the hybrid of three species - an anubis, a dragon and a displacer beast. Bipedal, digitigrade, general physique of a feline but with the added bulk of a canine and dragon. As time went on, his appearance took more of a canine appearance than feline, though there were several things that have remained static:
- Kyowai does not have 'eyes'. At least, he doesn't 'see' in the visible light spectrum like most creatures do. In fact, you could poke your fingers into his eye sockets and not find anything there - but those sockets are not by any means hollow. Housed inside is a luminescent smoke - left deep blue, right stark gray in color - that allows him to 'see' in a unique perspective. What Kyowai 'sees' are the souls of what is around him - for the most part, the soul takes on the form its owner views it as (i.e. inner image matches outer image). However, this does allow Kyowai to spot particularly imbalanced souls - we'll get into that importance later. Something worthy of note - the smoke housed inside his eye sockets does tend to leak out on occasion when he concentrates his gaze, trailing off into the air.
- Kyowai does not have fingers. Toes either, for that matter. Instead of toes, there are thick, massive talons that would look normal on a young dragon, dewclaw included. They are curved, very sharp and very durable. His fingers, on the other hand (no pun intended), are a little unique. Normally, they are mere talons, faintly curved and long, like overgrown spikes growing from his hands. However, there are knuckles hidden inside those talons - flexing them takes a little pain and effort, due to the fact that they literally 'break' when he does so. The segments are still quite rigid and sharp, but after each 'break' (which is accompanied with a rather bone-chilling sound, much like someone physically breaking their fingers), the talons are able to flex and maneuver with much more versatility. Clenching them into fists results in rather painful looking spike-knuckles.
- Kyowai can't smile without looking like a deranged psycho. Blame the canine muzzle armed with draconic fangs.
Now, I've spent quite a lot of time and said a good lot of things, but I have yet to answer the question given. What is a Dranth? Long living and with very strange physique - their blood is a mercuric substance, a glossy silver in color and exceptionally poisonous. Typically black pelted, with several white streaks carving through their fur in distinct patterns, none of which seem to retain a static shape for long. Their diet consists of mostly a carnivorous nature, though the occasional bit of metal is digested to aid in reproducing their oddly metallic internal fluids. Highly sexually active, though not very compatible with other species - cross breeding is exceptionally rare.
Typical heights for male Dranth range from 8' to 9', with females nearly equal in height, though a bit more slender in general physique. Females are usually quicker than their male counterparts; though not as strong, their endurance tends to be much higher than males. All Dranth have long, prehensile tails - these appendages tend to be very thick and muscular, allowing for added mobility and defense.
No Dranth have wings. I will discuss why Kyowai has his in later installments.
'Eye' color varies for all Dranth. It is rare for any Dranth to have both 'eyes' of the same color.
Female Dranth are fertile one month in every seven years. Their heats have resulted in the occasional death of a male Dranth from their frenzied mating passion. In fact, it is rare for a male Dranth to survive a female's mating frenzy.
Dranth are born from eggs. A female typically only lays one egg per clutch; two is rare, three is nigh unheard of. The shells are a thin metallic enamel. Young Dranth mature in eight years, though they can hunt and eat raw meat and minerals in three.

FA+

I would have given you a higher score if you had trolled with any of the following:
"What is this I don't even" - 2/10, since it's rather overused.
"TL;DR" - 5/10, since I lied about these being 'short' descriptions.
"wat" 3/10, cause lol.
Course, I like the dragon him more if I had a choice. :3
