Why Windows 7 insists on being a severe pain in my arse?
Here's the deal: I decided to try to get some work done and took the laptop back to the bedroom. I get everything set up, the tablet plugged in, and...
Nothing.
We had a mild hardware issue the other day, and I figure it might have done something to the drivers, so I reinstall them.
Still nothing.
I restart. I try all four USB ports. I try with the tablet both unplugged and plugged in at start up.
STILL NOTHING.
Then, out of nothing but sheer frustration and desperation, I switch over to the husband's profile.
And it works.
AGKLAFKJASDFJKASFDKLJASF WTF?
Both profiles are administrator profiles. I've used the tablet on my profile just the other week when I was over at
's place for an art jam. WHY THE HELL IS IT DOING THIS!?
And before you tell me that it makes no sense, trust me. I know. The whole of my professional background is in IT and tech support. I know what the fuck I'm doing.
I'm sorry, but all you Vista haters: when compared against 7, Vista is the superior OS. I've had nary a problem in the three years I've run Vista.

FA+

If it was Windows 7 itself, then it wouldn't work on your husband's profile at all. If it was a laptop issue, then it still wouldn't work at all.
However windows 7 does seem much faster in comparison - and i like the new features better.
I've never used multiple profiles on my computers though so I'm not sure what is going on with your tablet.
try getting rid of the drivers altogether - My tablet functions on basic tablet drivers instead of the ones provided and it works just fine.
Anyways, hmm.. What kind of tablet is it? In your profile, did you happen to look at the hardware to see if the USB ports were active, or tried plugging in a flash drive or other usb hardware to see if they were working? o.O That would be the only thing I could think of, somehow your profile disabled the usb connections. *shrugs*
Hopefully you can find a way to fix it.
Did your husband set his profile to the computer first?
We do it that way so we can both set up and install the stuff that we need.
now....i recently had a problem like this.
my wife's profile will run torchlight but not mine. the solution we found was to put the game and all its files into a shared folder accessible from all accounts
