Oh, and you know something? Me and my folks are thinking about going to AC10 this year (we might not even be able to snag a room this late!), but we were looking at this really neat website, http://www.hotwire.com/ , that has hotel rooms for DIRT CHEAP. We're a bit tight on budget too, so we're getting a room through that site (it may not be one of the con sponsored hotels, but so long as it's within 10 miles of the convention center it's fine with me). What they do is they don't tell you the name of the hotel, but they give you a ballpark estimate of where it's located, and they tell you the star quality.
They have, for 130 dollars a night, rooms within 5 minutes of the convention center! But they can go waaaay cheaper depending on how far you settle for being from the con.

And as for transportation, there's always carpools! :P
