If the .zip is the problem, try WinRAR: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
A .zip file is not a folder (although it looks like one on some operating systems), but a set of compressed files, and you'll need to decompress them before they work properly. Right click the .zip and choose "extract here" (or anything similar). You should see a folder appear with the game files in it. :)
