Canker sore

I've got a canker sore in my mouth and it hurts like crazy! o_O
Does anyone else get these things? It's like a little pit in the bottom part of my gums and it hurts to do just about anything face related. It hurts to eat, talk, shave, it hurts to brush my teeth... hell, it hurts to just sit here and do nothing. I've had it for about 3 days now and they usually last about a week to a week and a half. Good grief this thing hurts like hell!
I haven't got one in long over a year, probably two. I could have gone longer without getting one and I wouldn't have minded. I've done research on what to do when you get one, how to avoid getting them and how they start in the first place. From everything I've read it would seem that doctors don't know how or why they start, there is no way to avoid getting them and nothing to do when you have one. You just have to suffer though it.
God damn this sucks... I'm going out for sushi with fiends this weekend. I hope it's gone by then.

FA+

it goes away on its own though, so try not to touch it too much
Brush my teeth, morning and night. Gargle with hydrogen peroxide after (do not swallow it) make sure the peroxide hits the sore.
Gargle with salt water after every meal to clean out the sore. (it'll hurt like hell but it helps)
Also use something like orajel to keep the pain at bay (its a gel you put in your mouth that numbs it)
Hope it gets better for ya!
Try an oral anesthetic gel like Anbesol. Just rub it on it and it numbs it up.
To hasten healing, salt water is helpful.
I've gotten rid of them in about three days with twice daily salt water mouth swishings.
And I usually get them from a combination of no sleep + stress. But that's just me.
1) Take a firm toothbrush and scrub the white gunk from the center until the canker is bleeding freely. This hurts.
2) Take a mouthful of Listerine and hold it over the canker. This hurts worse until the alcohol in the Listerine starts numbing the pain receptors.
3) Hold the Listerine in your mouth for a minute or two to make sure the canker is sterilized. Spit it out and don't eat or drink until the next day.
Repeat as necessary. The white goo in the canker is basically an infection, so if you keep it clean and irrigated with occasional bursts of strong mouthwash, it'll heal itself up within a day or so.
Good luck! :)
And I, too, used to think canker sores were terrible.... but those abcesses I'm recovering from gave me some perspective.
I get them occasionally. Usually I just ignore them until they go away, but if they are in an especially sensitive spot, I apply a bit of Ambesol to the spot and it feels all better. For about 10 minutes.
DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT PAIN.

I know you can't read hungarian, so i will give a quick info: It's a lotion to rinse the throat, which has antibacterial, and minor pain supressing attributes. It's free to purchase without a receipt and very cheap too. Approximetly less then 5Usa$ if my guess is correct. You use it like 30 drops in 1 ml water, and rinse yur throath with the water then spit it out.
BUT your problem is the PAIN. So it can be used without thining it in water. Give 4-5 drops on a ear-cleaning brush and brush it against that little spot that hurts. The effect you will have: A ligth burning pain for 1-2 seconds and then the spot WILL BECOME NUMB! :D
It lasts for 4-5 hours and you can eat all you want, because the spot will be feeling-less! Just give it a try! But first you need to find a similar product in your country, which i think wouldn't be Mission Imposible...but quite an easy task. Good luck, Joe! And do tell me if it helped! XD
K.D.
Keep it in place for as long as I can bear.
Then rinse out and repeat.
