I went to FurAffinity United 3, which was my first furcon(but not my first con). Honestly, it was a blast. I met a lot of cool and interesting people, not the least of which being 2 The Ranting Gryphon, Spunky, and Nek0gami (whom I talked to a bit before finding out it was him). My best times though, are the times I spent with newly-met friends. I would list the names, but I would feel like shit if I missed one. Thus, I will just say that they were many cool furs, whom I hope to see again.
I find that furcons are vastly different from any other con I have been to. At GenCon and Origins, the events and the dealer's hall are the highlights. At furcons(or at least FAU) I found the events rather...lackluster. That is not to say the con was bad, he exact opposite really. FA:U made up for the small size and lack of grand events with its great community. What I did at the con was inconsequential. What mattered was the people I was doing things with. Everywhere I went, I was meeting cool furs. Some where as new as I, others had been part of the furry community before I was conceived. Regardless of the differences, I found that I fit right in. As a friend of a friend(I think) said, "...there are no strangers, only friends you have never met." Those people made FA:U the more enjoyable con I have ever been to.
To those furs, and you will know if you are one of the ones I'm referring to:
