Ive said this before, but it apparently bares repeating for those who dont know my own personal rule about messangers
I will almost never message you first.
The reason for this is because I have been shoved off and chewed out for interrupting people when they are busy. I know most do not mean to do it, but to save my own fragile self esteem I dont message people first often. Theres alot of personal emotional reasons for this, and it is not a reflection on anyone in specific, nor even restricted to online contacts. Its just the way I am.
I am more then happy to talk most the time when you message me. And if I am busy, I will generally tell you so. And if my responses are slow, that doesn't mean I dont want to talk, it just means Im probably multitasking (a common occurrence). And if I notice I am being slow, I will generally tell you why and apologize.
This journal comes after I cleaned out my SL friend list/calling cards and got messaged by someone who said they had removed me cause I wouldn't talk to them. Which isnt true. If I never talk to you, that just means you haven't tried talking to me. =)

Today I got 2 "thx for the faves" from the SAME GUY, even after I removed the first, he put another one on. Apparently no-one cares if they're wasting your time, they just wanna spam you. -_-
It's hurtful to know I'm probably the only one who reads every FA page carefully to make sure I don't piss someone off.

I dont see it rude at all. The shout systems is supposed to be used more for a graffiti tagging on the front of your userpage, simple messages in passing. It was never ment to be a serious contact medium. Thats what the noting system is for
