GRRRRRRRRRR! + what do you think of this advert?

If anyone ever reads this that is… please don’t. I’m just having a little whinge but please check out the new Maccas ad.
Grr, I am so disappointed with myself! I have been here for over a year and I haven’t completed a story to a level that I am satisfied enough with to post. There are two main reasons for that. The first is that I am always busy with university study and placements and when it’s holidays I tend to have a massive, hyperactive lifestyle… you know hanging out with friends, clubbing, chasing girls/guys, diving, bush walking… everything that a 19 year old nature freak does. :) But that’s no excuse. University is the most extreme form of torture for my brain but I still should be able to produce SOMETHING! I mean everyone else seems to be able to do it, when do you people find the time?
Anyway the second reason is that I work on far too many stories at once. I have about twenty stories at varying stages of completion but none that are ready to be posted here. I just need to focus on one story and put a little bit of time each day to work on it, but seeing as I’m at the start of my exam block I doubt that’ll be any time soon. :’( I think I might change my status to watcher until I have written something.
Anyway, enough of my excuses/self loathing, what do you guys think of this McDonalds ad? link My sister couldn’t stop laughing at the boy’s ‘Oh if you only knew, dad!’ smirk. I reckon it’s good of them to make an advert that acknowledges the gay community, but I don’t know. I can see the humour but I find it kind of sad. Being closeted is a horrible thing and the fact that he has a lover but can’t open up to dad is rather disheartening. Wouldn’t they appeal to the gay community more if they showed a happier situation? Although that might drive away homophobes and I can see the humour and cleverness behind it so it's a plus I guess… Maybe I should cut down on studying my psychology subject…
Thanks to those who read this!

As for the ad.... IDK. On one had, I think it's a textbook example of the corporate branding Naomi Klein warns us about. They aren't trying to sell their shitty foot- they are trying to sell us our own lifestyle (and not very well either~!). Utterly shameless and soulless. But on the other hand.... it does signify another small step into the mainstream of culture for us non-straights. So I guess while I think the ad itself is stupid, I like what it represents (if that makes any sense XD).
I know, ay? What it represents is good, but the way they went about could have been better. While it tries to promote acceptance you can feel their monetary motivation behind it. Shouldn’t they be focusing on, hmm, I don’t know, what they are actually selling? Not once did they even mention their food!
