Arrurr? What's this for? Can I research what my animal totem would be? Or is it a quiz? @.@

It is a Native American belief that animals guide you through your life. You can find your animal within through deep meditation or from a medicine man. I'm visiting an Elder and he helped me find my animal totems.

You can find them yourself. Take magic mushrooms and sit in the woods for a while! :D

You dont need mushrooms silly.... but you can find them sitting in the woods XD

I assumed a fox or coyote or something. Maybe even a bobcat, but I experienced the life of my Stag spirit from birth to death and knew that he was the one. Omg, it was the coolest thing ever.

Yeah. I WANTED a fox, but when I thought about it, Im not really a fox person. Hehe

The rabbit has quite a bit of meaning to me... If you check the meaning, you'll see why heh. Particularly the Louisiana Swamp Rabbit... It's just a normal Eastern Cotton Tail, but they get almost twice as big. I've always been extremely drawn to them, waay before I ever even thought of moving to Louisiana. Your so lucky that you have somebody you can go talk to about it :D

if you spend enough time with me outside, i can usually spot a nearby rabbit xD i also feel that many of their traits are similar to mine... also ive had an extreme draw to rabbits since i was a baby... my first and most special plushie was a rabbit(i still have him!) and i also raised show rabbits for a loonngg time :D but enought of my rambling xD

Your totems usually appear to you frequently. They also show up to teach. Be mindful of what they are trying to tell you ;3

I spoke with an Ojibwe elder in Minnesota once. I had flown up there to do charity work on the res. We had painted the Native American history museum, and some local buildings, and we were staying at the high school for the week. We went to a pow wow the night before I left and an older man approached me. We talked a while and somehow got on the subject of animals because... well... I always talk about animals. ;) He asked me if I knew my totem. I told him that I had self-diagnosed it to be a coyote because I always had been fascinated with them. He asked me if they showed up in my life a lot. I tentatively said no, and answered a few more questions. We began discussing how I consider myself very close to dogs- how I dream that I am a dog, how I emotionally connect with dogs, and how even when I did not have a dog, they were always a part of my life. He suggested that I explore myself because he saw that I had a special connection to them. :) That's all I know. It seemed like we had spoken forever, but it hadn't been long at all, and he had to dismiss himself so he could speak to the other volunteers.
