I don't find it that odd. I do the same thing as well, mainly due in part because journals can differ from submissions in that they can become time-sensitive. Like maybe someone opens up commissions again, or has a special sale, or is starting a livestream. Plus, Journals can be voided quicker than submissions, just by the title alone.

Could mean you don't want to read after looking at submissions ;) Personally, I read journals first so submissions have time to load: I open the journals page in a new tab, open the submissions page in another tab, close the tab I opened them from, switch to the journals tab, open new journals in new tabs, nuke journals, switch to the submissions tab, open new submissions in new tabs, nuke submissions, close the journals page, close the submissions page, read journals, then look at submissions. Very systematic, and everything's for a reason!

I was unaware things took a long time to load xD they take like.. 2-3 seconds at most for me.

I'm very impatient XD Also, some images take a while for me to download -- my download speed is about 100KB/s at its max.

I normally do too to get them out of the way, but I do enjoy looking for journals from people that I'll actually read.

I check my journals and comments before submissions because submissions usually tend not to disappoint me and they're a good pickmeup!
